Its patented gas block system prevents excessive carbon build-up from operation and makes the rifle very clean, reliable, and low maintenance. Madbull has done an exceptional job transitioning this design to the airsoft market with the Madbull Barrett REC7 Gas Block Kit. This kit features an adjustable and movable gas block switch, a movable dummy piston driven system, and an adjustable outer barrel. Although the piston system is non-functioning for airsoft, this kit does a great job making your airsoft gun look just like the real thing.

this barrel is solid. 14mm ccw thread allows you a vast number of cool flash hiders to choose from. 14.5'' means that its a carbine length. nice gas block and the details is just that nice. it breaks the traditional profile of the m4. the finish could be improved. its finished with a flat black paint. similar to flat black paints you use for model kits and the like. it has that powdery quality to it. the paint is so matte. i dont't know if the real steel counterpart is also finished in the same way. if you have a background painting model kits with flat black finish, you'll know/understand that it absorbs skin oils that fast and it damages the finish. same goes for here. because of the characteristic of the paint used, mine came with marks from factory handling, no big deal since it will be covered by rails anyways. i will try to paint a clear satin over it to tame the flatness of the finish. this will fit the 9'' dd omega rails. i dont know if it will accept other 9 inch rail systems though. the top of the gas block doesn't level up to the rails i used though but still not a big problem.
Pros:
-it looks cool
-solid 14mm ccw outer barrel
-not as heavy as the stock outer barrel from my echo1 jp13.
-nice attention to details
Cons:
-flat black finish. (i don't like it, but it might appeal to others)

How many inches of RIS would this accommodate? Would it work with the Madbull Spike BAR Licensed 9" RIS Unit? What length would it work with?

It should work, the outer barrel length is adjustable. I am currently using Madbull's 9.5" Mk. 18 RIS II with this barrel.
