The newest version of the Valken Battle Machine has landed. Designed to meet the demands for a budget rifle that is truly competitive, Valken has created the MOD-EC. Constructed from HDP, or High Density Polymer, the MOD-EC is lightweight and sturdy. Featuring a full metal outer barrel and Mil-spec buffer tube, the front post sight is also crafted from metal, giving the otherwise polymer externals a bit of heft to bring the overall feel of this airsoft gun to another level.

Internally, the MOD-EC features a metal gearbox shell with a ported piston head and lightweight piston to ensure fast and reliable cycling. A Polycarbonate piston keeps things moving quickly, and an O-ring seal air nozzle assures good compression with no leaks. Using 6mm Stainless Steel bushings means smooth gear rotation and minimal friction, decreasing the chances of bad engagement and breakage significantly. Also featuring a metal spring guide for added stability, it's obvious that Valken meant business with the internals on their new Battle Machines.

Product Information:
This a great gun that is easily up-gradable (if you're into teching), but also comes with some surprisingly good stock components. It has great velocity 350-385 fps, decent rps (not sure exact number, but it seems about average for a modern AEG), and the accuracy is really good for a stock AEG. Internally it has some of the best stock components I've seen on a gun in this price range (compared to similarly priced JG, G&G, Echo 1, ect.).

Conclusion: Great gun for this price range with some surprising features and a unique look, with a few (but somewhat expected) downsides.

*External body looks unique and feels strong: High density polymer for lower, upper, and stock. Metal outer barrel, buffer tube, trigger, selector switch, pins and screws. It also has plenty of room for battery and includes a detachable fuse. The mag well is much tighter than other brands I've tried, and like how solid it feels when the mag clicks into place. I can't help but compare the feel of the plastic on the body to a G&G (not a bad thing!) Overall decent body and great feel to the selector switch (again, think G&G)
*Internally it features surprisingly nice parts for a stock gun: Metal gearbox, gears, bushings, cylinder head, cylinder, piston teeth, and an internal O-ring air nozzle. Another great addition to this gun is the aluminum barrel and hop-up chamber (which is normally not included on a stock AEG of this price range). Also, the design of gearbox makes shimming easy because the slots where the bushings go extrude out a bit to keep them from grinding the gearbox's surface, which is a nice surprise and also a deviation from the norm (which shows they actually care about this sort of thing).

*Externally, so far, the only downside I noticed is the stock is a tiny bit loose, but so are many other brands.
*Internally the only potentially bad thing I noticed is the metal cylinder did not completely fit the gearbox window/slot which could cause it to move forward and backward when the piston is being cycled, but I did not notice this happening when I shot it on full auto, with the gearbox removed (it just sat in the backward position).
soes it come with it? what kind does it need?

Staff Answer:
This does not come with a battery, and will need a 9.6v NiHM butterfly type battery.
