Purchased this mount arm for some replica AN/PVS-15s I'd purchased from an overseas retailer much earlier in the year.
It's a nice piece, for sure. Solid aluminum, and it's extremely light... not much lighter than the Rhino mount arm for the AN/PVS-14s, but enough to be noticeable, considering this mount arm does much more.
There are three controls: a vertical/height adjustment lock at the top, a control to adjust the angle on the left-hand side, and a button on the swing arm to raise or lower the NVGs on the right-hand side. The swing arm is self-locking.
There is a quick-detach button at the very forward most part of the arm, which allows you to connect your NVGs. On the left and right sides of this are buttons which, upon pressing both sides together, operates the release to slide the NVGs forward or rearward.
It comes in a matte finish and I think the only plastic on it is the buttons/releases.
The vertical adjustment is easy to use, but if you have the goggles attached and placed over your eyes, it takes a little fumbling around to find it. Nothing a little time spent familiarizing can't fix. The button to swing the goggles up and down is easy to find with goggles down and swinging them is quite smooth.
Use caution, however, as you may accidentally detach the goggles from the mount arm, causing them to fall (happened to me). The lever on the side which tilts the goggles up and down holds is also easy to find and operate.
It feels very solid and well built. The matte finish is a nice touch, because they could've made it quite shiny... which would've taken away from its looks.
Didn't fit my Ops-Core shroud on my ProTec helmet. In my efforts to fit it in there, the mount actually broke the shroud. I ordered the Lancer Tactical shroud as a replacement and it STILL didn't fit. So I took my Dremel and filed the upper tab and the sides. Now it comes on and off with ease, locking in place nice and secure.
The price seems a but steep for a replica, but the other option is buying the real deal, which tend to cost about five hundred dollars. That's money well spent on guns and gear.
* Solid, sturdy construction
* Light weight
* Controls easy to locate with goggles down
* Movable parts have good freedom of movement
* Movable parts lock securely in place
* MAY require filing or sanding to fit shrouds properly
* Price a little high
Excellent piece of gear to put on your helmet. Fit right into my NVG shroud on my replica Ops-Core helmet. Attached some replica PVS-15's on them and they look great. this thing is solid and has adjustments that are easily manipulated. Although I have some con's for it as well. Over all if you are looking for an NVG mount and don't want to spend the money for the real Wilcox mount, this is your best bet to go with.
Solid and adjusts how you like it. Looks great and functions too. (which in airsoft sometimes products are made to look great but not function great) With some replica NVG's the look is there good enough.
Fell apart from back plate and basically unglued itself due to using this in the rain. I really didn't think about how the weather would affect this product but it did to such an extent that the thing fell apart. So I would recommend to take this off if you are in the rain. Or just unscrew the whole thing and put super glue on the screws and put it back together.
I would Highly recommend this one over the tan version as the tan version is new and doesn't fit to my NVG shroud.
Ready to go?
Is this compatible with the shroud on the Lancer Tactical Ballistic High Cut XP Helmet ( Black / L - XL )? Because the last LT mount I got was missing the piece between the mount and the shroud to keep it in place. WIll I need that piece? Or can I get it straight out of the box, Place it in the helmet, and be set? ._. GOT TO BE SURE lol
