Just got mine today and though I haven't had the chance to shoot it, first impressions are good. However, there is one thing that troubles me (and is the reason I'm writing a review) and that is that the description and actual product have some descrepancies.
The description clearly states "durable full metal frame" which is only half true. The upper part with the rail where the slide sits is in fact metal. However EVERYTHING below the small screw in the trigger guard is PLASTIC (except the trigger, mag release, grip safety, and mag well flare). The trigger guard, mag well, and grip are all plastic. I will say that the plastic does feel solid and will likely do it's job fine, but at this price point I kind of expected FULL metal and not just half.
The other problem is tied to the first. That comfy looking stippled grip? It's not rubberized like you think. It too is plastic. It also does it's job of providing good grip, but bare-handed it's anything but comfortable. The worst part of it is that the grip is literally molded out of the lower frame, so you can't even unscrew it and put another one on. The bottom two screws literally don't do anything and the top two hold the lower part of the frame to the upper part.
I paid $134.99 for this as a preorder (also came with a free extra mag as a preorder bonus). Regular price is $169.99 on Airsoft GI. $170 gun and it's half plastic. I own a SOCOM Gear M1911 MEU (single stack gas 1911) that cost $140 and it's true full metal with a rubber grip. I feel that at this price point it really should have a full metal frame.
To wrap up, I gave this a 4 star rating because at the end of the day it's an airsoft pistol and it does it's job. It's not like it's fatally defective or anything. And overall the build seems solid. I won't be returning it or anything, either. I was just very disappointed when I read "full metal" in the description, preordered, waited several months, finally got it, opened it... and discovered that the "durable full metal frame" was, in fact, not.
Pros:
-Looks cool
-Built solidly*
-It's a Hi-capa
Cons:
*Built solidly, but almost half of it is plastic, which I don't like at this price

Staff Answer:
The outer barrel is not threaded. It can be changed with an after market outer barrel with threads for you to be able to use a tracer unit. 467 days ago 0
