I love this hand guard! It is large enough to carry a large 9.6V battery. The included grip is perfect for an extra good grip, which proves incredibly useful for good handling in close quarter combats. With pre-mounted RIS rails, you can mount various equipment. I found the rails perfect for my laserpointer which I mounted on the bottom, and calibrated to illuminate the exact area the iron sights target on medium range. and on the left side I mounted a Surefire flashlight. If you need a hand guard that can house a large battery for your MP5A3/A5, (also works for A2 and A4), this is perfect!

Awesome! If you already own an MP5A5 or A3 (retractable stock), this is perfect. I wanted rails on one of my guns, and I wanted a large battery for my MP5, as my current one only lasted about a magazine and a half (300 rounds). If I bought a full stock i would get rid of the cool look of the retractable stock and I would also have to rewire the gun, which is no fun at all. When I saw this, it was like a dream come true. My MP5's battery suddenly lasted entire games! And now that it had rails, I could attach a flashlight or laser, or whatever floats your boat =) The only con is that my 8.4v 1800 mah battery does not fit well. You kind of have to force the pin into the hand gaurd. Even then, you have to be careful that no wires are between the hand gaurd and the gun, because the wires will get cut. also, i had to modify it slightly to fit on my ICS MP5 (the front sight was too big). But it was soft plastic, so just a regular file should do. and by the way, congratulations on reading the entire review, but there's no point in making a one sentence review: "this thing rocks!" or "buy it now".

This thing is great. It is really solid and fits well on the mp5. There are a few problems with it though, all of which can be fixed easily so I did not subtract from the score. The first being that in order to get a large type battery into it you must sand down the rails on the inside. I used an xacto to cut these down and it worked fine. The other problem is where to put the fuse holder. I have figured it out now, but it was a pain at first.
