The D Boy Full Metal MK17H features a full metal and polymer construction, the D Boy MK17H mirrors the real steel version in nearly every way. The upper receiver of the MK17H is constructed out of high quality metal and features a very realistic bolt with functioning bolt catch. A CQB style outer barrel as well as a foldable and retracting stock makes the MK17H a very compact and ergonomic rifle that is great for field or close quarters. The MK17H is also fully ambidextrous featuring a magazine release and fire selector on both sides of the gun. A completely monolithic top rail system allows for unlimited optic possibilities, three rails are also featured on the front of the gun for mounting of lights, lasers or vertical grips. Internally the MK17H is unmatched in terms of performance and reliability in its price range. A high quality metal gearbox is used along with perfectly shimmed gears and a piston that can easily handle anything you can throw at it. The gearbox of the MK17H sounds amazing and produces a very high rate of fire as well as easily hitting 150+ feet consistently. The D Boy Full Metal MK17H is truly a power house that is sure to be extremely popular with both veteran and novice airsofters alike.

CJ's Review
When I first held the D Boy Mk17-H, I immediately noticed that it felt solid in my hands, and that it was extremely comfortable to shoulder. With the adjustable cheek rest, my eyes lined up perfectly with the flip up sights almost immediately. One thing that your eyes notice right away when examining the gun is that there are no trademarks, a feature that actually gives the gun a stealthy, almost SWAT style look. The gun is noticeably lighter than many of the other SCAR-H replicas on the market, allowing for the addition of VFG's optics, lasers, lights, or really any other accessories without having to worry too much about the additional weight when carrying. D Boy also did a great job on the realism factor with the ambidextrous selector switch, ambidextrous cutouts on either side of the gun for the charging handle, and the fully functioning bolt-catch. The stock on the gun is retractable, extending a couple of extra inches making it much more comfortable for those of us with longer arms, as well as being equipped with an adjustable cheek rest for added comfort, and the ability to be folded into the side of the gun, shortening it significantly and making it much more controllable for CQB style situations. The gun also features a full-length rail along the top of the upper receiver and out toward the end of the barrel, providing premium real estate for optics, PEQ boxes, aftermarket iron sights, or an infinite number of other top-mounted accessories, as well as shorter rail segments on both sides and the bottom of the front of the gun, which are optimal for lights, lasers, and grips of any type. The magazine is also very realistic, in that it is shaped very much like the 7.62 magazines used by the real SCAR-h weapons.

The D Boy Mk17-H does have an issue with the folding stock not locking into place when folded. D Boy has recognized this as a manufacturer defect, where others would call it a 'non-function', and will likely take corrective action on future versions of the MK17. Fortunately, the defect with the stock has absolutely no affect on the performance of the gun, it still shoots exactly as it should. In light of this, Airsoft G.I. will be selling them at a discounted rate.

For the range test, I took the D Boy MK17 to the yard along with an 11.1 LiPo battery and .25 gram BBs. I set up 3 targets in increments of 15 yards and set up in a resting position to keep the gun as sturdy as possible. At 15 yards I was easily able to hit the targeting making a very tight grouping on both semi and fully automatic, but that is to be expected at only 15 yards. Next I stepped up to the target at 30 yards; again I was easily able to hit the target nearly every time. Of course I wasn't able to get as tight of a grouping but that is to be expected at the longer range. Surprisingly, even at 30 yards I was still able to maintain a nice grouping on full auto. Finally I took aim at the final target at 45 feet, and that's where I was extremely surprised. It took me some time to get the hop-up just right but I was able to hit the target about 3 out of 6 times.

Overall, the comfort and stability of this gun, paired with the smoothness and accuracy with which it shoots, make it a great gun for the price. On top of that, the added discount because of the manufacturer defect make it an even better deal, especially considering that the defect has absolutely no effect on the gun's performance and playability. I have to admit that D Boy really stepped up their game when designing this gun, and would suggest that everyone take the time to check one out.

Product Information:
Very good for the reduced price. shoots very hard and it is very accurate. you can attatch a scope to this thing if really wanted (maybe with a extended barrel too). At first i was having problems with the gun because of the magazine. the magazine can not only jame but it does not feed the bbs in very well, and caused bbs to fire very slow a lot of the time. VFC mk17h magazines did wonders for mine and after i started using them the gun worked great.

Pros:
Hard shooting
Accurate
Good ROF
Very realistic
Full metal

Cons:
Battery can be tricky to fit, try flipping it over or extended the stock completely to put the battery in (don't pull the cable all the way out either (duh))
Crappy Magazine, works but id reccomend getting VFC magazines to replace it
Folding stock doesnt lock, which can be fixed using liquid rubber applied in the right place (do so at your own disgression)

Product Information:
I bought this gun awhile back and I was impressed at first. It was decently accurate. Shoots hard and has a decent rate of fire. It's heavy and full heavy and it is truly realistic and looks identical to the real deal. Recently I've had some troubles. The front tool doesn't come out anymore. It scratches easily. The magazines are expensive. Echo 1 high caps work like a charm. The hop up is terrible. Buy a new one. You should also buy a new inner barrel. And while your at you should also buy a smart charger. I definitely recommend it to beginners or people who like upgrading their guns.

Pros:
Heavy
Realistic
Nice bolt
Loud
Rails!
Stock
Fps

Cons:
Hop up
Inner barrel
Scratches easily
Mag that comes with it sucks

Product Information:
I purchased this airsoft gun over a year ago, excited that it was my not only my first airsoft gun, but that it was full metal. Upon receiving it, I was impressed and excited, however 1-2 days after I had received it the magazine began to act up. The build of the body is sturdy and well made, with a nice weight to it, giving a wonderful feel in your hands, the battery compartment is fairly small unfortunately, and wires have a tendency to stick out, The fire selector also acted up on me not long after having bought it, In error I attempted to fix it myself with online guides and managed to disassemble most of it but was unable to safely remove the gearbox and ultimately made it unusable by anyone without the know how to properly disassemble and reassemble it.

Pros:
Good build with full metal body, plastic/polymer pistol grip and stock.
RIS rails are sturdy with no play at all, excellent for all your needs.
hard shooting right out of the box.
Adjustable shoulder and cheek rest.
Great looking, a sure crowd pleaser.

Cons:
wobbly fire selector.
Difficult to remove gearbox even with online tutorials.
limited battery space.

Is this still a good gun to buy?
There are no newer comments so I don’t want to buy an older gun that won’t work as good as a newer one would but I don’t want to pass up this awesome deal
