Top Airsoft Questions Sniper Rifle Edition Article
New to airsoft? Here are some safety tips for airsoft guns that we recommend following.

The A&K M24 Bolt Action Spring Rifle is an awesome example of a high power, high quality, airsoft gun that won't break the bank. The stock is made from a high quality polymer that helps save weight but also provides a solid chassis for the gun. The bolt and lever are made of metal for durability over other cheaper models with plastic bits in the lever. The barrel is also made of metal to replicate the real M24's barrel. The butt stock pad is adjustable to fit with different shooter's comfort level. There are sling attachment points on the front and rear of the stock, there is also a bipod swivel near the front where you can attach a bipod for a long stable shot. The magazine holds 15 rounds and is very easy to change because it's designed to pop right out of the magazine well when released. The M24 is a widely used rifle across the United States in both military and law enforcement agencies, and now a very reasonably priced M24 is available to the world of airsoft! Even though this is a great gun out of the box it can still be made even better with APS2 upgrade parts! Our master tech Frank has tested APS2 upgrade parts in this M24 and they perform flawlessly. If you're ready to be deadly from long range then you have to check out the A&K M24.

Product Information:
Good rifle for the price
Feels sturdy with a good amount of weight

Pros:
Shoots hard around 490 with .20 and 470 with .30
This is a pretty heavy rifle almost as heavy as my real M700
This is pretty accurate out of the box and would be a great rifle with a few mods

Cons:
the mag plate is a bit touchy and tends to open when you barely touch the lever but that was easy to fix.
yes the bolt is hard to pull back but that is the same with any high FPS bolt action. how ever if you pull the bolt straight back and dont bind it it really isnt that hard.

Product Information:
I've got this gun for a few years now and this was my first sniper rifle. This gun is quite heavy and shoots quite hard at first, so definitely look at buffing up if you plan on playing with this for an extended period of time. The hop-up is VSR10-like, meaning it is pretty much a VSR10 hop up BUT the difference is that the hop up is smaller in size, so a regular or after market VSR10 hop up would NOT fit. The hop up does take VSR10 buckings (I currently have a REAPS bucking installed) and I was able to install a Danger Werx arm as well. As with most sliding-adjustment hop up arm, BBs do tend to hook so look into doing the TDC mod. The barrel length is about 520 mm and takes VSR10 cut barrels (I have a 6.01, 517mm, Angel Custom M28 barrel in mine). Inner barrel does not have any barrel spacers. The trigger box (not really a box at all) does not appear to be anything I've ever seen (I have heard that it's quite like, if not the same, as the Classic Army M24 trigger box). The piston sear appears to be steel and is at 90 degrees engagement with the piston. The piston is metal and blue in color. The inner diameter of piston where the spring goes into is quite small (7mm I believe?) so if you're looking to replace the spring, make sure you get a smaller diameter one. Spring guide is metal but there are no bearings. The cylinder and cylinder head are NOT compatible with any other so do not scuff or destroy your cylinder head trying to take it off (and believe me, it's a pain to take off). I am unsure of any magazine compatibility at this point.

If you're looking for a M24 sniper rifle just to shoot around, surely consider this bad boy. Just know the after market parts aren't all quite there (or not quite tested anyways). I would also look at the Modify M24, the one that's marketed as pre-upgraded, if you can find it in stock somewhere.

Pros:
-Full metal which means hefty weight for the gun
-Shoots hard so obey those minimal engagement distance
-Fluted barrel adding to the physical appeal of the gun
-Internals are quite beefy

Cons:
-Full "pot" metal (this crap strips too easily so try not to torque anything down)
-Not many confirmation on compatible after market parts (no offense, but I wouldn't take ASGI's word for it. I guess, technically, you don't have to take my word for it either BUT....)

Product Information:
This gun was my first airsoft sniper rifle. I bought it due to the monster internals. It comes with many steel internal parts such as trigger housing, trigger, and sear. Also the sear is a 90 degree setup meaning the chances of slam firing are little to none. The gun also comes with a metal piton and spring guide. I've heard that the stock inner barrel is a tight bore but I'm not sure. The velocity is a little low for a sniper rifle and with .30 g bb's and full hop up, you will have trouble hitting targets at ranges beyond 180 feet or so. I imagine that with .28's you will be at that sweet spot between range and accuracy because the .30's are dead-on accurate and are not affected at all by light to medium wind. Overall externals are good minus the stock feeling very hollow and a little cheap. The magazines are also pretty bad. After about 3 weeks of owning, I am seeing cracks and chips in the plastic magazines, which by the way are nearly impossible to replace. If needed, I would try to get the echo 1 m28 magazines to work. They seem to have the same feeding mechanism. All in all, a great gun internally with mediocre externals. It will get the job done just don't be too rough with it.

Pros:
Great internals.
Good accuracy.
Quiet.
Comes with 2 magazines.
Easily adjusted hop up.
Smooth bolt cycle.

Cons:
Garbage magazines.
Stock leaves much to be desired.
Velocity is just 20-30 fps short of being perfect

Is the barrel threaded.
If so I was wondering what type of suppressor it can use.
