New to airsoft? Here are some safety tips for airsoft guns that we recommend following.

KRYTAC, established in Southern California in 2013, is a dedicated product research and design team of the Switzerland-based firearms manufacturer KRISS Group. The primary focus of KRYTAC is to engineer premium airsoft products for recreational use. Additionally, KRYTAC also specializes in the advancement of cutting edge professional training systems. The KRYTAC team is comprised of highly experienced firearm and airsoft professionals who have come together for one common goal, to provide premium products that evolve individuals beyond their boundaries.

The KRYTAC brand name is derived from the legendary sea creature, The Kraken. The Kraken was feared, and revered, for it's power and dominance in the sea. No other creature could match The Kraken in strength and speed. The spirit of The Kraken lives on in KRYTAC.

The Trident LMG combines the firepower of a full sized light machine gun with the portability and the controls the traditional AR platform. The specialized upper gives the firearm a unique design that utilizes the same lower receiver found on common AR carbine. Cross compatible parts allows for easy maintenance and upgrade options. Controls on the Trident LMG mimic that of the AR platform, making it familiar to those that are already trained to utilize an AR. With its large box magazine, the Trident LMG is ideal for laying down massive suppressive fire.

Internally, the Trident LMG features a reinforced 8mm ball bearing gearbox with integrated MOSFET to regulate electronic signals and to protect the trigger contacts. The corners of the gearbox that surround the cylinder feature a smooth radius, as opposed to a 90 degree angle, to prevent fracture. Also, the gearbox shell features a small window on the left side where lubrication can be applied directly to the gears or piston, this window is also convenient for inspecting the angle of engagement with the gearbox fully assembled. Additional gearbox features include a modular spring guide system that will allow the spring to be changed without completely disassembling the gearbox. The KRYTAC piston is made of a durable, lightweight, polymer and features 4 metal teeth, with the 2nd to last tooth absent. The Cylinder head is padded with an enlarged rubber bumper to optimize the angle of engagement and to absorb energy form the impact of the piston assembly. The material for the gears have been especially formulated to be very strong, Rockwell test figures on the KRYTAC gears are much higher than industry norms. Turning all of the drive train components is the KRYTAC high torque motor, capable of 30,000 revolutions per minute unloaded.

Product Information:

Everything you've heard about Krytac stuff is true: it's INCREDIBLE. I've never seen anything like this in airsoft. A case-hardened gearbox shell, a specially designed alteration for greasing your gearbox, an incredible attention to detail in all of the internals. Performance is shockingly good for an expensive body modification to a regular AR-15 platform weapon: the main competitor to this is the HurricanE Shrike Kit, which requires an existing AEG to modify and costs US$700, minimum.

The Krytac LMG has no iron sights or optics. Get you an Elcan something or other (or a sufficient clone), and keep in mind that no matter what you get for iron sights, they will have a SMALL sight radius due to the way the rails are arranged. The sight rail for the receiver is a half inch or so above the handguard sight rail, and that is about a quarter inch over the gas block top rail. I set my Troy flip-up sights (by VFC) on the handguard rail, hoping the increased distance from the operator would balance out the poor sight radius. It worked excellently. I suggest doing that, and setting unmagnified optics on the same rail. Of course, place scopes where you need them for the best eye relief, just make sure that your irons (if you have them) are set up to be on the same level with each other.

Speaking of the gas block and rails, it has two rails: bottom and top. The bottom is perfect for putting a Picatinny mount bipod on. I don't have one of those yet.

There is otherwise a paucity of rail space, but that is perfect for this kind of weapon: you don't need 3 AN/PEQs, a scope, a reddot, a foregrip, an angled foregrip, and two kinds of bipod.

The battery compartment will only really accept nunchuck type batteries, and has limited space available. I see room for improvement here. For the record, the Krytac LMG is wired to the rear, making the buttstock only replacable by other adjustable buttstocks with space for batteries OR an adjustable buttstock and a battery sling. Be aware of the open-ended buffer tube! Despite my initial reservations about this issue (as a customization whore), I'd have a hard time giving up the stock, having used it. It's comfortable, has very nice and consistent cheek weld and shoulder placement, and makes the massive weight of the Krytac LMG manageable. Here's hoping Krytac makes the buttstocks available as aftermarket parts!

Oh, right. This weighs a ton. Still lighter than a M249 SAW or relative, but not by a ton. It's a support weapon though, I can't imagine anyone being too upset by this.

The "magazine" is incredibly large, and between its ease of winding and the fire rate of the Krytac LMG, the 3k rounds will disappear shortly after you load them into it. Buy LOTS of BBs. I mean LOTS. I'm dedicating a portion of my closet to BBs for this. Do not underestimate how fun it is to fire. The magazine takes a single 9V battery, will wind automatically when you press the button on the bottom, feeds perfectly, and has a removable insert for inserting a belt of fake rounds. The feed tray on the LMG, however, does not function. You'll need to partially disassemble the upper receiver to insert the top of your ammo belt, and expect to be dangling a belt if you switch magazines mid-fight (instead of merely dumping an unopened bottle of BBs into the gaping maw of the beast).

The charging handle has, much like the real steel Ares MCR, been moved to the side of the upper receiver. It functions like the regular M4/M16 charging handles do, including not having a functional bolt catch and not travelling as far as it should.

Now, the orange tip. Most guns with orange tips have cheap, hideous pieces of garbage that do more to harm the look of the gun than alert people that it is fake. The Krytac LMG has a beautifully sculpted take that completes the presentation in a tasteful fashion. I'm so pleased with the lengths Krytac went to to make sure you wouldn't feel like you needed to remove their orange tips, that I'm going to leave mine on. That is positively unprecedented.

That just about covers it. The Krytac Trident LMG is a gamechanger -- an airsoft gun that comes with all the bells and whistles we're used to installing by hand, and some we never thought we'd need. An airsoft gun that performs as you'd like it to out of the box. Krytac is here, my friends, and I hope it is here to stay.

Pros:
Fully upgraded out of the box
Based on the Ares Defense Shrike/MCR/AMG-1 & AMG-2 faithfully
Excellent fire rate
Shoots hard enough that it has a little bit of stringing in sustained bursts from the gun moving itself around
Excellent range for a SAW/LMG type of weapon
Box magazine (insane high cap)
Comfortable ergonomics
An orange tip that doesn't completely destroy the look of the replica firearm
Satiates my inner customization whore despite not having anything I want to customize

Cons:
Unusual sight rail arrangement makes iron sights hard to place, increases difficulty of using long optics
Lack of rail space
HEAVY
Ammo guzzler
Stock is difficult/impossible to swap for another

Product Information:
Plenty of hype for this LMG. Since this is my first support AEG, can't really compare it against other similar platforms. Works predictably well and reliable But in all Honesty, nothing special here.

Pros:
Light ( by a small margin compared to m249 SAW)
Mosfet pre installed.
Rotatory hop up unit.
I hear the gear box is awesome.... Better be! for the amount of money being dished out !!
Pretty sweet trigger.
.32 work great. ( get ready dish out some cash on BB's)
Pretty awesome range with that weight out of the box. 175 feet +

Cons:
Rotatory hop up unit .... in PLASTIC? why
.25 EF BB for some reason are just not consistent, .32 work great. ( get ready dish out some cash on BB's)
Much of the marketing push is " Its a usable light LMG" ... Half true, still plenty heavy. especially with the box mag.
Box Mag never functioned for me. Simply would not feed.
Pricy ( and not really that exceptional to justify the price point)
good luck trying to find iron sights to work on this setup ( If you do find some, that don't make it look utterly silly, do please let me know)
Pretty much any other high end AEG M4, with a mosfet and a Box mag + $100 added to the price tag.

You can run 9.6v nunchuck style battery or LiPo. I run an 11.1 LiPo for the best FPS. The motor in the box mag is a standard 9-volt battery.
