Product Information:
I have a great deal of experience with gas pistols. I've owned 3 KWA USPs, 2 KWA M19s, a KWA USP NS2, a TM Desert Eagle Hard Kick, a WE 1911 Tac, and a WE Hi-capa 5.1, most of which I still own. I've only had my SG MEU for 3 days and I've had more issues, which have been harder to deal with, than with all my other pistols combined. This surprised me as this is literally the same as my WE 1911 Tac but with trades and a nicer grip, added by SG.

The first problem I experienced was that the slide would only fully cycle about half the shots fired. The other half it would only partially cycle and would half cock the hammer and the bb would only be fired at about 100fps.

The next problem I experienced is that when I got a full strength shot, the barrel would not recoil with the slide. With a 1911, the barrel has to initially travel backward with the slide so that the rear of the barrel can drop down to make room for the slide's movement. In this case the slide was moving backward before the barrel moved at all and the slide was jamming on the barrel after only traveling backward about two centimeters. It would jam very hard and required that you push the slide forward very hard to unjam it. Then it would just do it again on the next shot. I swapped the barrels of my WE 1911 and the SG MEU and both guns seems to work fine. Now I'm having the problem with the recoil not being powerful enough again.

I intend to spend more time trying to diagnose the problem later but considering my degree of experience with gas pistols and this design in particular, it is ridiculous that I couldn't figure out the cause of the problem after two hours of trying.

It is possible that I got a lemon but I didn't bother doing any research on the gun from reliable sources before I bought it (mostly because I bought it for looks, as I already have 5 skirmishable pistols). I have been able to get it to work sporadically, and when it does work it works very well.

Overall this is a great gun on the rare occasion that it works.

Note: For those who don't know, this is a WE 1911 Tactical which has been trademarked, painted, and SLIGHTLY upgraded by SOCOM Gear. Upgrades are a new trigger, rubbery grip, and a rubber buffer pad on the recoil spring guide to lessen impact.

Pros:
Mostly just aesthetics:
Great attention to detail
Very nice trademarks
Ergonomic rubbery grip
Nice looking in dual tone
Heavy Kick (when it works)
Good gas efficiency for a single stack 1911

Cons:
Jams constantly
Even after replacing barrel, shots are often underpowered
Safety lever on right side wobbles a little up and down (common problem on the WE 1911)
I know from my WE 1911 that the barrel bushing is made of extremely low quality zinc alloy (pot metal) and it will break easily
