Product Information:
Bought this for my cousin's JG G36c when a friend decided to make his first venture of airsoft tech work my rifle, and ended up ripping the entire hop up system out and broke the one I had installed. All metal makes this a durable product for sure... however it has some MAJOR cons that need to be addressed before you consider this.
Be warned, this hop up takes extreme modifications to *several parts* including one internal gearbox piece that make it so going back to stock condition requires replacement parts of the Barrel Assembly, Mag Well, and Air Nozzle. You have now been informed.... enjoy!
Pros:
All metal, and we're talking ALL METAL, except the hop up barrel lock, this sucker is 100% metal and is going to be rock solid and give you great consistency at higher FPS as well as stock.
Fits the thick ICS bucking I bought for my JG MP5 that decided it didn't like it... saved me another $6.
Works after some serious and hardcore modification to multiple parts within the gun...... including the hop up itself.
Cons:
Lots.... but bearable given it was my only option outside of buying a new plastic hop up(i like my guns to be metal and durable... plastic... not cool)
Basically I had to modify three separate parts on my G36c along with the hopup itself before this thing actually decided to work correctly. The first was the gearbox nozzle which had a protrusion on the top that helped the feeding on the stock hop up. This had to be completely removed before the nozzle could go all the way into the hopup and push the BB into the chamber.
Next was the barrel assembly, this irritated me the most, that I had to actually BREAK it in order to make this work because the hop up is too short for JG series G36 rifles. Without breaking it(cutting out the hopup knob stops that you twist the hopup into place with on the outer barrel) the hop up would sit with about 1/8 of an inch to spare reducing my FPS to maybe.... idk 30? It barely shot 30 feet with the maxed hop up. Taking out the hop up knob stops on the barrel assembly let it fall all the way back to the gearbox and solved the compression issue. FPS returned to 330! :D
Third, was the expected mag well issue. Frankly this is fine because I'd rather have the feeding into the hop up be as solid and uniform as possible, this increases consistency at any rate of fire... however I had to modify the hop up itself by dremmeling off a small portion of the inner feeding lip because it would not align right with my mag well(stock G36c mag well)
With several hours of headache and modification to the point of no return completed.... I can now rack out 20rps with my G36c once again full fervor and no reserve without worry of misfeeding! Consistency and range are not much better, but they are noticeably better to a small margin, so i'm happy, so I think I will add a systema hop up bucking and x-style hop up knob and see if that gives me more results. Also, adding a Systema M120 spring kicking it up to about 400-420 fps has given me a nice 30-40 foot range boost and due to the metal hop up my consistency is rock solid.
