Well, this one's a mixed bag. Got great mechanical stuff, but the wiring is just atrociously bad. Q.C. Lonex? I dunno, I don't see how soldering the trigger switch wires together could possibly have passed someone testing it. Mechanically it's pretty sound and well machined, the gears, piston and frame are very durable.

I haven't gotten to test mine yet, I tried to install it into a Tin Star S2S M4 Extended and ran into a couple of immediate snags. As the previous reviewer mentioned, the wiring harness is REALLY short on the back. Mine was basically a mini Tamiya snugged against the shell, couldn't even clear the M4's lower cutout to buttstock interface and remain useable. I took the high road and removed the connector, soldered new wires on, installed everything else and tried to test it. The Burst Wizard indicated a short. Started testing with the multimeter and found that there was indeed a short, inside the mechbox to the frame. So I open up the mechbox and hope to find something I can tape-n-go, cause I want to avoid more solder work... no such luck. The + wire was partially stripped at the rear shell exit (I might have done that) but the + wire from the switch to the motor was also stripped at the sprag. Then I noticed the switch leads appear stuck together at the solder points, sure enough someone soldered through the insulation on one and stuck it to the other. So until I can replace the harness with something superior (Burst Wizard hardwire, here I go), I'm left typing out this review.

So to sum it up, great mechbox if you aren't afraid to fix the wiring or get lucky and get one with proper leads. Probably not worth the current price + labor though.

The mechanical elements deserve 5 stars, however since it's sold as a unit the wiring earns it a one star rating.

Pros:
Mechanically sound, well designed and assembled to tight tolerances

Cons:
Wiring needs to be yanked and replaced with something more...sane?

Rating: 1 of 5 Stars! [1 of 5 Stars!]
