solid gun. Yes, it goes through gas, but get the adapter and use propane. I bought a madbull metal adapter and it works fine. There seems to be a 'warmup' period for the magazines i have. The first time through a mag after an extended period of time (like a day) the mag holds less gas and the slide tends to not lock back after the last round is fired. The second gas fill is better, holding more gas and the slide locks back. i usually get enough gas for about 1 1/2 mags (like 20 rounds).

its accurate enough. i can print single holes with aimed shots at about 6-8 feet. good power too, obvious with propane. i use .25 bb's in it. good heft.

mine is great, only rated a 4 cuz of the 'warmup period'.

This gun is great! It feels excellent and has an excellent finish. It is heavy and has nice blowback. Although it is a gas hog (around 50-60 rounds per fill) it is very worth it. The accuracy is very impressive; it shoots accurately to around 70-90 feet.

I've had this gun for a while now and I havent had any problems. It shoots hard and accurate. The weight is almost identical to its real steel counterpart. It also looks exactly like a caspian arms .45, I have one. I was also expecting it to be more of a gas hog but I shot a mag and a half on one charge of gas. Overall, one of the best 1911 replicas I have ever come across.

I gave this gun a 4/5 because even I was surprised at the gas consumption, even knowing how bad it would be going into the purchase. It's that bad. I have a propane adapter, however, so it doesnt bother me one bit. All the rest, the weight, size, feel, blowback and accuracy are great!

For those that don't know, this IS the WE 1911 Government, but with better internals (supposedly) and a Caspian slide instead. I do WW2/Nam airsofting probably 5% of the entire time on the field, so I'm not overly concerned about it. As for why the plain WE 1911A1 is rated so well and this so poorly... I have no idea.

In a standing, unsupported position with the wind blowing cross-wise (i.e. normal conditions... who plays airsoft in 70 degrees with 0 wind in a basement?) I was able to hit a tree slightly thinner than your average geared-out 'softer FAIRLY consistently at 90 ft. Any closer than that, say, 75ft, and you would be on target each time, pretty much guaranteed.

This gun also comes with just 1 mag, unlike its vanilla counterpart. Not worth the fancy trades, in my opinion. The only thing I would be worried about is longevity - but I have owned and used 4 different brands of GBBs, and they all break down over time. People are always the harshest on the new kid.

This gun, or the other variations by WE are highly recommended by me - I have been playing airsoft since late 2002. I am also an amateur airsmith being slowly taught by the Buffalo, NY area's master airsmith.

Also - for first-time buyers or casual browsers - ASGI is the place to go to buy airsoft equipment. I had a slight problem with this order, I had actually ordered the vanilla 1911 from WE and recieved this, (with only 1 mag). I called up Tim at customer service, and in less than a minute, Time had me taken care of with a polite tone and a mag shipped to me. Best customer service I have ever had in my time playing the sport.

This gun is solid,
This gun is very heavy, not as well weighted as a WA 1911 but not bad. Compared to a real steal 1911. this gun is very back heavy. obviously because it's an airsoft gun. The finish isn't great, it's to shiny. Also the crome crome cover is very unatractive. Compared to the standard WE 1911 it look's cooler with the Caspian logo in my opinion. If you like the 1911 style this might be what your're looking for if you dont want to pay alot. Instead, for 5 bucks left get the WE 1911 with two Mag's.
Some cons of this gun-it's a big ass gun
-Gas hog
-Low cap mag's
Pros-Big ass gun
-Crono 348 with AE .2, (I'll try again on a warmer day and with some killer beez)
-Nice Grips
-Seems solid

Overall not a bad gun, I'll have to see if it breaks like the las tWE I owned

I bought three pistols this week. Two G19, Green Gas, and one M1911 Red Gas. I bought the 1911 thinking.. Wow, Red Gas.. The G19's work without fail and hit coke cans at 50 feet without a miss..
After firing ONLY FOUR MAGS through the M1911 .. It will no longer chamber the next round or full cock to fire again.. I am an Armorer from the military... ( I KNOW WEAPONS)..and the function is not enough gas when fired. The G19's preform totally with better results... The M1911, after one day and new, is usless.. Sorry I bought it... Hope Airsoft G I will trade this out for me to another G19.... ( and still have more Christmas gifts to buy, we will see...) Brad C. 7/08/07...
