The Ares Tavor is simply amazing! I have enjoyed the look and feeling of the gun. When I pulled it out of the box the charging handle did not work, I simply pull back the dust cover with my hand and it worked fine. Note if your bolt catch is not working make sure that the wire is not blocking the bolt release. I use a 9.6v 1600mah butterfly battery that fits great, i did get it stuck once and was a pain to get out, but if you angle it right it fits fine. The plastic is really high quality, the range and accuracy is great up to 200ft no spread. Mid cap feeds great and has a good grey finish. The stock 509mm inner barrel is a tight bore 6.04. Things I did not like is the serial number is not unique, the rubber but plate rubber is pealing off,the flash hider is glued on and did not come with a black one like I've seen in videos, and has 14mm clockwise threads, really Ares? Anyways the gun is amazing and I would recommend this gun for a bull pup user any day.

Great Dark Earth Finish
Range and accuracy
Nice feel to hold and shoulder (One hand it really easy)
plastic is great
Not to heavy
Good ROF
Hop up works really good
Quick change spring
400 fps

Flash hide glued on
Clockwise Threads
Mag can fall out easy if hit by accident
Semi sometimes doesn't work but switch to full fire and back to semi it works fine
Battery can be a pain the first time but you get use to it

This is a great gun. Hands down, favorite gun that I have used. I recently went to a friends house and he and his friends had a assortment of AKs and M4/M16 style guns. The TAR-21 looked better and shot better that their guns. It is very solid, don't let the polymer construction fool you. Sadly, the iron sights are useless. Get some sort of optic, and a riser if you like a mask. All the cons of this gun are VERY minor. Again, GREAT GUN.

Solid gun construction
Good FPS out of the box (for me, at least, it shot at 401fps stock)
Accepts STANAG mags (m4/m16 style)
Great ergonomics
Not too heavy, not too light

The Tenergy 8.4v that Airsoft GI recommended didn't fit, but this is minor
Bad iron sights
Mag is a little hard to put in during the heat of battle
Mag release switch is a little too easy to hit with your wrist

One of my airsoft buddies has this gun. (I'm probably gunna get it myself) This kicks ASS! I figured out the spring release. There's a metric hex screw under the flathead. I would definitely suggest an M120 spring as a quick upgrade though. 300fps is a bit disappointing. If you're tight for battery space, a Tenergy 9.6V 1600 works well. This is one of the toughest guns that money can buy.

Uses M16/M4 Magazines
Completely Ambidextrous
Includes Top and Side Rails
Great Internals
Bolt Catch
Includes Black Flash Hider

Small Battery Compartment
Orange Tip Hard To Remove
Mag Release is easy to press accidentally
Only Comes with a Mid-Cap
Rear Sight is hard to use
Disappointing velocity

If your looking for a gun that is durable light-weight fair rpm and wont let you down, this is the gun for you. The fps is ok but you should buy a new spring, but it has a quick change system. Smaller batteries work well with this gun. Im the only one out of 200 on my field with this gun. My advice is getttttt thisssssss GUNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!

I bought this gun a few weeks ago, and received it within a week of placing my order. Apon opening the box the first thing I noticed was that the packaging was very very good. I can almost bet my house that if you order this gun it will come in 1 piece 100% of the time. It only comes with a mid cap magazine, which can get frustrating in big gun fights, so I'd recommend upgrading to a high cap, or investing in several mid cap mags.

Overall, the pros outweigh the cons. Its a major player right out of the box. Alot of people will be looking at it. However, if your looking for more power or better sights(along with better magazines) you WILL have to put $200-$300 to turn this gun into an even sexier beast.

VERY accurate. Although windy when I tested the accuracy, it was able to hit a small pop can from 20 yrds out no problem.

Great rate of fire. I tested mine on a half way dead 9.6V and even while dying still shot hard and fast.

This may be just me, but this gun is SEXY. You will defiantly plenty of looks when carrying this around.

Solidly built. Nothing rattles, and the magazine is tight as a whistle. No wobble.

Easy access to the spring....very easy to change springs on the fly(Although I did have a problem with this, see below)

$450 for what is essentially a BB gun? Your friends will call you stupid when you tell them how much you paid for it.

I dunno if this is just mine, but it stops firing sometimes on semi and full auto. To remedy this you must go back to safety, then go to full auto, fire a few rounds then go back to semi if thats the setting you were using. Very very annoying.

Orange tip is super glued idea how to get it off(suggestions?)

Mag release is in a really bad place...I tend to hit it even when just messing around with it.

Iron sights flat out SUCK on this gun. They give me a headache just looking through the tiny hole. Probably need to invest in a good red dot or holo sight.

Spring release....I don't know if its just mine again, but I cannot get the spring out. I can get it open but it will not come all the way out for me to actually put a new spring in the gun. Really wish I knew why, but if your not careful with it, I'd say theirs a high chance you may break the spring(Note, gun shoots 300ish out of the, if your looking for something more powerful, you'll have to put a spring in it....thats why I mention this issue.)

this gun is great. 450 is a little steep but i must say it was worth all of it. it comes with the black M4 style flash-hider a midcap (that for some reason never worked, but Echo1 hicaps did) the gun and a nice box :) its amazing but i only have a few personal gripes about it, and there may actually be a few legitimate problems, but ill see soon. and im not sure if this is LIPO ready i saw/heard it was but im not too sure and want to take no risks. and take note that youre going to need .23g bbs with this gun .20 curve like they didnt want to hit the target in the first place. also note that the gun is darker than what you see, and strangely wider, but i mind the latter.

1. Polymer and metal construction, what isnt tan is metal, and the foregrip is some sort of good ABS
2. cocking handle sounds great
3. spring release/ easy change system is good
4. most comfortable gun to hold
5. doesnt seem heavy but it is. trust me on that.
6. rails, and the whole gun itself is just built like a tank.
7. long barrel
8. ARES is a good company (or so i believe) and i have a feeling this thing is gonna last a long time before i have to refurbish it.
9. looks like something that was really dragged out of israel if you put an ELKEN style (m249) scope on the gun i mean this looks like one of those pictures youd see on LIFE magazine or something.

1. only a personal gripe because im not used to bullpop. the mag release is RIGHT behind the trigger group/grip and if you have bigger hands or thick arms (or a heavy person) your wrist might bump into it and eject the mag, but thats only happened twice during target shooting
2. gun is very picky about parts. i put an M110 into it with an 8.4v 1600 (which is the only thing you can really fit in this) and it only lasts liek 20 minutes before the battery dies :(
3. not power efficient, with the normal spring it might take up to 40 min of combat before it dies, thank god i have 2 batteries.(@ 8.4v-1600 MaH)
3. as stated above the battery space is REALLY cramped and the only good battery you can put in here is a small type LIPO, but also stated, i have no idea if its LIPO ready or what.
4. only another personal gripe, but the trigger grip gets really slippery really quick when your palms sweat, and same with the foregrip, unless youre wearing gloves, this is nothing so dont sweat it, literally
5. for some reason NO midcaps like working on this gun no matter how lubed they are, but hicaps work flawlessly, im just pissed because i wanted the midcap stealth but whatever more ammo or stealth is a hard argument.
6. another personal thing, because of power inefficiency, a loadout consisting of more than 2 or 3 hicaps will drain 2 batteries quick. and seeing that im going to invest in 6, im going to be doing a LOT of semi-auto firing, or trying to find new ways for this to keep going. not sure how though.

these cons are only legitimate problems if overthought; so if youre thinking of buying this, buy it, you wont be dissapointed. youll only have to get used to some things but thats not that horrible. this is a perfect weapon for CQB/Medium range combat roles so if you buy a scope invest in a red-dot as well. just dont piss all your money away and youre set. thanks for reading, and airsoft GI thanks for the gun.
