The M40A5 designation superseded the M40A3 in 2009, though the evolution between the two systems occurred gradually over a longer period. The primary difference between the M40A5 and the M40A3 is the barrel: The A3's target crown has been replaced with a threaded muzzle and straight tapered barrel to allow the installation of a muzzle brake or barrel extension.
The VFC Limited Edition M40A5 Sniper Rifle is an excellent gas bolt action airsoft gun. Unlike spring sniper rifles pulling the bolt back is a breeze, even if it has an fps of 450-500! The hop up can be adjusted underneath the grip by spinning a dial, though you will need to loosen the screw that holds the dial down for further adjustments.This rifles features an adjustable cheek rest on the rear of the stock, allowing you to get a comfortable cheek weld on your scope, also included is the front receiver mounted rail perfect for attaching camera's PEQ boxes, or night vision. For the best performance green gas is the preferred propellant.Specifications:

Product Information:
Great Sniper Rifle, loving the shorter threaded barrel and rail mound on the front of the rifle. Great place for my VFC peq 15. Everything is solid on it and the weight feels evenly spread along the rifle unlike other airsoft snipers I have held in the past. Bipod works great and is spring loaded for easy release and compression back in place. Cheek riser works great and is rubber coated over metal so it wont transfer heat or cold in what ever weather you play in. Magazine is heavy and holds a substantial amount of gas. Bolt is smooth and requires little to no pressure to pull back until spring rifles. Also seems to have a free floating outer barrel in it, will need to disassemble to confirm. But it does have some give on it so do not worry about bumping the barrel by accident. Original flash hider is amazing and looks badass. So I would ask if it could be shipped with it if you are in a orange tip state. I do not have to worry about it here in Canada.
When it comes to accuracy, it is a gas rifle so the last bb's fired will be the least accurate. If you want consistency with the draw back of a hard bolt pull back invest in a spring rifle. If you want an easy bolt pull and a heavier more modern style of look pick this rifle up. you will not be disappointed with the investment.

- Weight is substantial but not over cumbersome
- Bipod and scope mounts are great quality

- VFC Silencer is not available yet
- Magazines are not yet available on a large scale and hard to find in north america

WOW! This gun really impressed me! The externals are fantastic and I really love that since its gas powered, the bolt is really easy to work since there's no spring. Pretty heavy too, really has that realistic weight.
