Lancer Tactical Tracer Unit
[E04G00][15303 / CA-400]The Lancer Tactical Tracer Unit is a great choice for low-light operations. An on/off button activates a light inside the barrel extension to ignite glow in the dark BBs so they can be seen while in flight. This barrel extension is equipped with a 14mm counter-clockwise threading to be used on a wide variety of airsoft guns. This unit is powered by 4 AAA batteries.

I have previously owned a Big Dragon tracer, and after a little over a year of use the sensors stopped working. It was one of my favorite things I had ever bought in airsoft, and I decided it would be worth it to spend a little more on a "JG" model. Sadly, I am disappointed. While the overall build quality is much better on this Lancer model, it does not function nearly as well. The bbs simply are not as bright. When fired, you can see that the bbs are indeed glowing, but they do not stay lit for the entirety of the bb's flight. While on my first one they looked like a Star Wars laser, even staying lit after hitting their target, their ricochet path glowing and continuing to glow on the ground. I found when testing the Lancer unit by dropping the bb through the top that this is due to the fact that the unit only lights up one side of the bb because there is only one source of light. The Big Dragon also had only one flash unit, yet it managed to light the entire bb. Why? Because of the inner barrel. Apparently, upon taking the unit apart, the Big Dragon had a metallic coat on the outside of the clear plastic barrel, allowing for reflection, while the Lancer only has a white paper coat. Much less reflection. I ended up switching out the barrel of my broken unit with my new unit, but there was little improvement. I also noticed that the Big Dragon has two, very large capacitors and the Lancer Tactical only had one, much smaller capacitor. Interesting to note. Overall I would much rather have bought another Big Dragon Unit. Even if it is a hit-or-miss tracer, it performed much, much better.
Pros:
Excellent Finish and etchings, it serves as a good mock suppressor. Easy to take apart if it needs to be serviced. Construction uses screws and not hot glue like the Big Dragon. Keeps up with 17+ rof and 430 fps.
Cons:
No where near as bright as my previous unit. Barrel does not have a reflective coating and unit fails to light the entire bb. Range of bb lighting only lasts for around 120 feet.
If your BBs fly straight, this is a great tracer unit for the price. I've never had it miss a BB, and even though I dont have any super high speed guns, I don't doubt that this would keep up with some pretty high ROF guns. You just need to be careful, because running the entire inside of the tracer is a plastic tube, which protects the inner workings of the tracer. If your BBs are not flying straight, you will probably destroy this cheap plastic tube (like I did). I bought some thicker/heavier clear polycarb tubing and made it fit where the old tube was. This gave me a good look at the internals of the tracer unit. The construction is pretty cheap, mostly pretty flimsy plastic. However, this is THE cheapest tracer unit on the market. It's great for people like me who just want to try it out, and to have it to play around with. If you are looking for a serious, durable unit, you may want to look elsewhere. But for the price, you cant beat it.
I've shot Madbull and Elite Force tracers through this unit, and both light up very well. The best is shooting at night, when the BBs shatter on impact and glowing pieces go flying. It's why I love tracer units.
Pros:
Price
Consistency of "tracing"
BB's stay pretty bright for a few seconds
Cons:
Internals are fairly cheap/flimsy
On/Off switch does not make it very clear if the unit is on or off
You can see BBs hit people and they still won't call it....
I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT. I bought this because it was required for a 24hr game I was going to. I bought it july 6th and when I got it I tested it to make sure it worked. It worked just fine that night, then I tried it a few weeks later and it didn't read all of the bbs but enough for me to play with. Then the game comes along and it's time to switch to tracers, so I put it on and test it out, nothing it barely read any of the bbs I tested with it, and I tested around 200. I tried new batteries and taking it apart and seeing if anything was broken, nothing broke and the batteries didn't help. So I couldn't play the night game and I'm salty, however the fact that it only worked properly once gets it a one star. Also while testing the unit I dropped bbs through it to see if it was an fps problem, it didn't work, the light on the inside was one but the sensor wasn't picking it up. I recommend spending the extra cash on a higher end model, it could save you money in the long run.
Pros:
cheapest one I could find
easy disassembly
easy to use
metal outside
Cons:
Didn't work when I needed it to
Couldn't find the problem

I'm guessing that's why the CCW is there for the removal of the flash hider?
Kind of a rhetorical question/response

Staff Answer:
While mock suppressors fit on pistol, they often will interfere with the operation of the pistol due to the weight put on the outer barrel. 3693 days ago 0
