The Ronin 3 Recon AEG has a trigger guard that is larger than normal and fire controls that can be used with either hand, giving you precise control in the field. The simulated recoil feature adds onto the satisfying shots you deal when you hit your target. KWA has included a magazine that is compatible with the integrated cut-off system. This will stop the weapon from firing when the magazine is empty, preventing damage that can occur from "dry fire". The version 3 gearbox has a quick-change spring for users to customize their KWA AEG rifle to their own specifications.

All Ronin models feature full metal modular upper receivers that you can swap with any KWA AEG 2.5 or AEG 3 rifle. For example, a player can put the Ronin Recon ML upper receiver on the Ronin PDW lower receiver and enjoy an aggressive front end with a tanker-style stock. Keep in mind that combining an AEG 3 Ronin upper receiver with an AEG 2.5 lower receiver would cancel out the recoil feature of the AEG 3. The upper receiver has a 15-inch M-LOK rail system and handguard that accepts most accessories such as optics, flashlights and grips.
