It is equipped with metal cylinder assembly and metal trigger assembly for durability and reliability. The BAR-10 from JG is the all around best sniper rifle available. This is a very good gun in that it gets the job done. It is fairly accuate with .28 bbs even with an upgraded SP 130 spring it still gets off chart sometimes but hey its an airsoft gun. The assembly for the magazine catch is EXTREMELY hard to put together. It took an hour to figure it out.
Pros:
good accuracy
upgradability
g spec silencer
looks
easy cocking
consistancy
good affordable gun
Cons:
you get what you pay for
cylinder pops out sometimes if cocked too hard
magazine catch is very hard to figure out
doesnt come with scope
made in china
First off, it isnt bad in stock form and there are all kinds of threads on forums how to do custom mods for free... these mods do help for the most part, however since this is 100% Marui compatible it is a great platform to build up. Here is a link to a tutorial on how to mod it for free I wrote a while back: http://www.airsoftallies.com/sniper-rifle-upgrades-modifications-f8/jg-bar-10-free-mods-tutorial-with-pics-t201.htm
I actually have replaced every internal piece (literally) to make it all it can be, spared no expense... Zero trigger, laylax cylinder, laylax piston, laylax spring guide, laylax 170 spring, laylax cylinder head, km head barrel, etc... with .36 bb's this thing shoots just more accurate than almost any other bolt action you will see and it has some range as well since it is pushing 550 fps (chronoed) on .20 bb's.
I understand that it may be impossible for you to spend the kind of money I have on mine, but a good upgrade is the zero trigger. With just that mod alone you will be able to run a much heavier spring reliably. The other nice upgrade is a good tightbore. I would just go with the stock length, because mine has been awesome.
The silencer doesnt do much at first... but if you drill out the inner plastic tube and put foam or stereo insulation inside of it, you will notice it dampening sound. I notice when I play with my rifle, even with it being louder due to the stronger spring, a lot of times people have no idea where I am coming from because of this.
Pros:
Cheap sniper platform that is 100% Marui VSR compatible.
Lightweight compared to almost any airsoft AEG or bolt action.
Magazines are fairly cheap and the mag well seems to work well with them.
Cons:
Not really any complaints... this gun always has worked great for me since I bought it last year.
This is an overall good gun, especially for the price. It shoots straight with .28s, it's durable, and upgradeable. Once you buy this gun you will never have to buy a better one. You can just upgrade it! It's also much more quiet than it's counterpart, the JG Bar-10 Spring Sniper Rifle.
Pros:
Quiet
Good Weight
Upgradeable
Cons:
Hard to put together
