The G&G Full Metal Blow Back GK99 Airsoft Gun is G&Gs newest addition to their line up of high quality Electronic Blow Back AEGs. The GK99 is a interesting take on the AK platform, equipped with most of the characteristics you can expect from a AK and a couple you wouldn't. The battery is housed in the front hand guard. The hand guard is made from polymer and differs from a traditional AK hand guard because it has been elongated and slimmed down significantly. The receiver is full metal with polymer in all the right places. The rear sight has been moved back to reduce the margin of error while aiming. The stock folds to the side, but it operates in a very unconventional way. Instead of the usual method, you have to squeeze the body of the stock to fold it to the side. Internally the GK99 has the durability you can expect from G&G, a full steel 6mm gearbox, steel gears and a durable piston head add to the overall dependability of this gun. The EBB system adds a realistic feel to the gun without sacrificing durability. The G&G GK99 is a perfect airsoft gun if you are looking for a high quality gun that will help you stand out from the crowd.

I got this gun for christmas and out of the box it looked really nice. I wanted to shoot it so bad so I charged the battery and my first problem came up. The battery that the airsoft gi store gave us was to big for the guns little battery compartment. I had to buy a new 7.4V LiPo battery from It wasn't to bad of an inconvenience and asgi recognized the problem and let me return the 11.1 that they gave me. When i was finally able to shot it it was very accurate and had a really good rate of fire for a field gun. If you could have got the 11.1 to work it will shoot like a BEAST!!!
I took it to SC VIPER to play and when the chronoed (don't know if i spelt that right) it, it shot about 390 with .2 gram bb's. Mt next issue was the blow back system. I don't know if it was just the gun they sent me the gin in general or if it was the battery swap but it would not blow back. It did my first 3 games at viper but then just stopped. I thought it was my battery so i went home charged it and it still wouldn't blow back! The hop up works very nicely and is really easy to adjust. The built on flash hider i really cool compared to other AK-74 designs. The gun does only hold ak-74 mags so you have to be careful.

_It has a very cool design that is very sturdy
_Very nice FPS just at the border of FPS limits in SOCAL
_Really good hop-up system
_The folding stock is really easy to use
_The flash hider looks really good and is made out of really good materiel
_very lightweight

_small battery compartment
_the hop-up system hardly works
_ASGI does not sell the waffle mag that it comes with
_There is no RIS system
_The pistil grip is non upgradeable

When i first got this gun i was ecstatic. It was exactly what i needed science my other guns broke. I got it at the airsoftgi store for $395 and they gave me the battery pack and an extra mag. When i got home i plugged in the battery then tried the mags. The on it came with fit fine but the extra one they gave me was the wrong type and the mag release immediately broke. It took a minor adjustment to fix it and i had to go back because the extra mag they gave me went with an ak47, to get an extra mag it has to go with an ak74. The next problem i had was with the battery, the one they gave me was a 11.1 triple lipo and it was to large for the battery compartment. All but that was fantastic, the gun has an amazing rate of fire and amazing fps.

good rate of fire

good fps

good performance

very stable

small battery compartment

non upgradeable sights

no RIS system

I got this gun around 2 years ago, and so far it has held up pretty well. After many drops, crashes, and more, the only major injury this gun has received has been a couple of scratches. The upper of the gun is made of metal, while the lower is made of high-quality polymer. The handguard is also made of a high quality polymer. The battery goes in the handguard, but the problem with it is that the barrel runs right through the center of the compartment, and makes putting an 11.1 lipo a tight fit. But once it's in, this gun fires like a beast. High RoF and perfect FPS for outdoor. The only downside to this gun is the length. On top the length of the gun, it also has a massive flashhider at the end, with isn't great for going around corners. Overall, if you want a unique gun that's not an AK, but functions similarly, this is the gun for you. Although it is a bit pricey, it is really worth it, because it isn't an AK, but can fit standard AK mags. It can also accept a standard AK optic rail on top of the upper.

-Good FPS and ROF
-Made with Good materials
-Not an AK
-Accepts AK accesories

-Awkward Battery compartment
-Clunky Flash Hider
-Charging Handle for hop up is a bit flimsy

Overall, the pros defiantly outweigh the cons
