The ECHO 1 MK36K RAS Unit replaces the standard plastic hand guard with a lightweight aluminum hand guard with a lot more rail space for upgrades. With this rail system you may lose the ability to put the battery between the hand guard and the barrel, a PEQ box and upgraded battery are highly recommended with this piece. No drilling, no filing, no fitting, simply take off the plastic hand guard and slide this one on in it's place. Changing to a RAS is one of the simplest and best upgrades one can do to enhance game play and weapon potential.

I originally ordered an SRC G36K RAS...but i got this instead y i dont know. Anyway im happy with it, its made from pretty strong aluminum/steel (im thinkin its aluminum but im no metallurgist) its got screw holes where u can put rail covers and enough space to mount an M203 or anything like that. I have it mounted on a JG G36C, yea yea i kno some of u might think its stupid...but i got it becasue since i have a silencer/barrel extension im afraid that when i turn or something the extension might hit a tree or a wall or something and damage the entire barrel. this actually protects most of it and also is gonna let me mount an M203. (and yes i kno about the CA AG36 launcher but thats another story)
Pros:
Strong Metal
Color matches
Looks great
Adds weight to the gun (i like my gun heavy)
Cons:
Of course there were some problems...
-The handguard pin will be sticking out like a sore thumb when you put it in since the area around the hole is not as think as the plastic handguards...you are gonna have to do some cutting
-(Since is on a G36C) when you try to put it in, its going to hit the fins on the Battery/Fuse assembly that are right above the battery connection. I dont know how it will fit on a G36K. Again for this i had to do some cutting.
-Adds weight to the gun (not a whole lot)
I give it a 4 out of 5
Everything in the last review is accurate. The unit is built of a solid metal, and the finish matches well, and feels good. I purchased rail covers with it, and it functions well. I enjoy the real estate it gives me for external mods. I put on a madbull XM203L, scooted it forward on the lower rail, and I now have a section that fits my hand perfectly, so I don't have to hold the launcher all the time. It works great. I did not do this, but the top rail is lower than the rail on the C variant base, and therefore perfect for a PEQ box.
Pros:
- Fits the E1/JG G36C/K like a glove. There is no movement, sliding, or shaking whatsoever.
- Excellent material
- Great quality rails
- Excellent finish
- Not expensive
Cons:
None, so far. Seriously. I suppose the only thing is that you will need to cut a little plastic off the barrel/fuse/battery assembly, but takes a hacksaw and three minutes. It's nothing bad.
