Classic Army Full Metal CA90 AEG Airsoft SMG
[R06B00][06162 / CA049M]New to airsoft? Here are some safety tips for airsoft guns that we recommend following.
Description:
The Classic Army Full Metal CA90 is a huge step up from the CA90 Sportline, it's practically a different gun. The top receiver is very well machined out of high grade metal. The plastic used for the lower receiver is noticeably more durable than the sportline, the entire gun gives off an aura of sturdiness. The built in red dot sight is powered by two AAA batteries and has two brightness settings; 1 (dim) for low light arenas, and 2 (bright) for outdoor use. The charging handle is functional but doesn't open an compartments. The battery space is small but fitting an 8.4v mini will not be a problem. On the right side of the red dot sight is a small rail section for mounting a flashlight or a laser to help with aiming. Internally Classic Army have fitted the CA90 with a 7mm ball bearing gearbox and a metal hop up unit. This is an extremely well made gun, finally someone is stepping up to the plate to contend with the Marui E90.

This P90 is miles ahead of every other P90. The Sportline was not exactly the most reliable and well performing gun. This P90 is EXTREMELY well made. Solid metal upper receiver, and a very sturdy polyurethane lower receiver. There was a little bit of wobble on the front end from the upper receiver not being tightened down all the way, but this was easily remedied.
With an 8.4v the ROF is excellent, with a 9.6v, it's ridiculous. There is little need for a Lithium battery in this. The battery compartment is a little cramped, but I highly recommend investing in the P90 Custom Intellect battery as they fit perfectly.
The fps is actually a little high for a CQB weapon, and if you are wanting to use it for that purpose, you may want to replace the spring to bring the fps down a little.
The sight is fantastic. The low setting is the perfect brightness for dark or dimly light. The high setting is a little too bright in my opinion, but it's not unbearable.
The only real downfall of the gun involves the magazines. DO NOT BUY KS MAGS! One try with a KS Mag, and the mag was done. It didn't feed properly, and just dismantled itself when it was pulled from the gun. The CA Mag that comes with it on the other hand is very good. Solid fit, feeds great, and operates as it should.
Overall, there is no reason to buy the Sportline, Echo1, or even the TM P90, as this rendition it far beyond anything else on the market. If you are considering a P90, then look no further than this ProLine P90. You won't be disappointed.
Pros:
Very solid internal arrangement (Gearbox, Metal Hopup, etc.)
High ROF, even with an 8.4v battery
Very sturdy body, both upper and lower
Excellent weight and feel
Dot sight is almost perfect
CA Mags work and fit perfectly
Cons:
Cramped battery compartment (recommend P90 custom battery for fix)
Magazines seem to be an issue, I recommend spending the extra money for a high quality mag
FPS is a little high for CQB facilities, but a change of the spring should fix that.
just got this gun and it looks and feels beast! the plastic lower receiver is not ABS, its something stronger. the metal upper receiver looks awesome and adds a nice amount of weight to the gun. one thing i didn't know; t doesn't come with a battery or charger. i have to buy them separate now. i hooked up my battery from my m14 (which didnt fit in the gun) and shot. it had a good fire rate and was insanely loud. the batteries fit in the red dot sight compartment, but just barely. they tend to fall out at random times. the gun feels great! a very comfortable feel. this is a great p90. (cant w8 to get the battery.)
Pros:
good fps.
built in red dot sight.
solid.
loud (also a con)
heavy.
one of few p90s that has a high cap mag.
Cons:
no battery or charger included.
batteries for sight fall out sometimes.
loud( also a pro)
Classic Army makes some of the nicest looking Airsoft guns I've ever seen. This CA90 Proline [NOT Sportline] is no different.
I purchased my non-red dot CA90 from ASGI in summer of 2012. It's not seen too much use to be honest but it's very fun and very realistic. Let it be known that the item on the page IS the red dot version, and not the tri rail version. That one seems to have been removed from the site.
The gun is heavy. The receiver is plenty durable and the optional tips included are orange, black and the black mock silencer. The included hi-cap mag could use a little silicone spray, sometimes it jams up but a little silicone spray makes it so you can get through the cap on a single wind, plus no bb rattle!
The poly body feels sturdy with no creaking of plastics. Very easy to disassemble - and that counts for the gear box, too!
The one and only concern I have is the incredibly loud noise it makes.
Lighting off a bb in the house is out of the question. Outdoors? You'll either make people run away from you or make them run towards you to find out what the heck is going on! Many claim that the p90 airsoft models (the one's worth a damn) are already pretty quiet. Not mine. The piston head SMASHES itself on every stroke. It's very very loud and can easily be felt through the stock. Maybe mine was a fluke, idk.
Either way, I love the thing.
Pros:
-Solid construction
-Barrel options
-Tri rail (in my case)
-Good accuracy, no data, but it's pretty accurate.
-Metal hopup
-"G"-status
Cons:
-Limited parts! There's no air brake for v6!
-Loud
-p90 vs. battery woes (normal)
-Hi-caps are a little junky but work once broken in and lubed.
