AMP 4x26 Scope for SVD
[06870 / MT010426]New to airsoft? Here are some safety tips for airsoft guns that we recommend following.
The AMP 4x26 Scope for SVD is very well made with authentic SVD Scope crosshair. The rubber eye piece places your eye perfectly behind the rear lens for a clear view. The mount is made specifically for the SVD. The ergonomics of this scope mounted on the SVD are a perfect fit. With the cheek riser in place on the SVD stock this scope is not operable with a full face mask. This scope is adjustable for windage and elevation. and is illuminated for those that play in low light scenarios.

In my limited experience with this optic, let me tell you here and now that you get what you pay for. By this, I mean that the quality of the optic itself is pretty bare bones. If you want a fancy looking bit of metal to put on your dragunov, go ahead and buy this. If you want a functioning scope, please please PLEASE do yourself a favor and shell out the $200 for a real Russian-made PSO or POSP (civilian version of the PSO). The quality is so above and beyond the AMP scope that I strain myself even calling the AMP a usable optic. For one thing, you will actually be able to adjust the scope for windage and elevation, and be able to get the range-finding reticle in the center of the scope's view. The optics on the Russian genuine article are crystal clear, and even come with a slight contrast-increasing filter built in. The illumination on a POSP will actually illuminate the reticle and uses readily available batteries. The knobs on the AMP felt like they were going to break just by me turning them. As a final grievance the rubber eye-piece was nearly impossible to fit onto the end of the scope.
All in all, if you need a good-looking, functional, durable optic for your SVD or AK, do yourself a HUGE favor and purchase a genuine POSP scope - they're all over eBay and various optic stores.
Pros:
Price
Functioning "IR Filter"
Authentic 1000 meter SVD range-finder reticle
Looks better than some Tasco scope you mutilated onto your SVD
Nothing else
Cons:
Less than average ACM quality
Rubber eyepiece practically useless and impossible to fit to optic
Magnification all wacky, optics blurry and reticle barely lights up even on new batteries
The SVD rail locking mechanism is weak and barely held onto the rail of my Dragunov
Rubberized finish?
Illumination switch is made very cheaply
Near impossible to zero
Cheap, cheap cheap adjustment knobs
