I purchased my ICS L85A2 in February to serve as a replacement for a much cheaper Army R85 version. I had assumed that the ICS would be much better quality and more durable. Sadly, that is not the case. After only two games and less tha 1000 rounds fired, the tappet plate has broken in two places. The gun was totaly stock with no changes made since it came out of the box.
Luckily, the new style gearbox is easy to disassemble, but the tappet is proprietary to the L85A2 gearbox and I have been unable to locate a new one.
Very solidly constructed.
Excellent range and ROF with the piston set to 'medium' power.
Very easy to change spring tension and FPS without changing the spring.
Works with all major brands of M16 mag.
Tappet plate breaks easily.
From searching the web, this appears to be a common problem with this gun.
Spare parts do not seem to be available at this time, leaving the gun useless.
