This thing is skirmish ready right out of the box. The level of detail to the real thing is what amazed me the most. This was a great buy. I'm glad I chose this JG A.E.G as my first airsoft gun. It's sturdy. It doesn't feel like it will break in your hands. It functions smoothly. I'm new to airsoft, so I couldn't give you a comparison, but I was surprised on how smoothly it fired. At the price, I think I made a wise choice at my first airsoft gun.
-Very realistic feel. I carried the real thing in the Army for 6yrs and I can say, the weight and overall feel is very realistic.
-Metal Parts. The barrel, front sight post, sling swivels, hi cap mag, rail mount, removable carrying handle, buffer tube, internals are all metal.
-Plastic parts don't feel "cheap". Even the plastic parts are strong and sturdy. Unless you tap on the upper and lower reciver, I swear, you'd think it was metal.
-Iron sights are made of plastic. The rear sight on mine wasn't flush with the base and had a lot of free movement.
-The battery is difficult to store. The battery goes in the foregrip just under the barrel . I found it difficult to close with the battery and all the wires. I can't imagine trying to change one out in the middle of a skirmish.
-The trigger is plastic. This bothers me for some reason. I would expect one of the most moveable parts to be metal. It has a bunch of metal parts, why couldn't the trigger be metal?
