First of all, i didn't buy the rifle. That would be my dad. He tested performance while I did the after action report inside the gearbox. This review is focused on my internal quality check and his action set up.
For my half of the review: I was impressed by the interals of the rifle. There were a couple things I didn't like, but overall it was good for being an inexpensive AEG.
The spring guide was a 2piece plastic type, but did have a ball bearing.
The air nozzle was a clear plastic that kind of felt rough and cheap, but did a good enough job.
The cylinder was brass and was ported for the barrel length, but the exterior was rough. Felt a little rough texture interally too, but a quick polish with a clean soft cloth fixed that
The piston was set mostly by what i would guess is polymer even if it feels like plastic. Have mostly nonmetal teeth with 1 metal tooth.
the piston head w/ o-ring was good. Felt like polymer and had plenty of ports for air seal with the o-ring which was just about the perfect size for the head. On closer inspection i found a ball bearing as well.
the cylinder head is either plastic or polymer, translucent and has a brass extention leading to the cylinder. Also has sorbo pad installed.
gears were strong and entirely metal. little over greased but not by much
the bushings were a double ring bearing type 6mm-7mm. Spun very easily with no grind. Shimming needed, but was good for stock.
The hop up is surprisingly a 1 piece, but seemed like cheap plastic. You can see through it so maintenance wise it's good so you can see what might be wrong
The inner barrel(according to my calipers were between 6.07-6.09 mm and made of brass. Seemed a little dirty looking even after cleaning
That was the first half on the internals. Everyone knows these are all plastic on the outside so there's no review for that.
The field report dealing with performance is a solid go. It has about a 75-100 ft range at between 345-360 fps. Rof is between 12-19 rps if only judging by sound on a 8.4 v nimh battery. Only real gripe he had was that the plastic was wobblly.
Amazing quality for the price. I would probably spring for a more study body, but for $96 you get better internals for sacrificing external quality.
Great interals. Especially for a inexpensive rifle.
Performance was above par from what i expected.
Externals leave much to be desired.
