For: Condor Outdoor Riggers Belt (S/M, Black)Product Information:
I have owned this belt for about 5 years now and I have been using it daily for nearly 3 years. I bought a tan belt, sized for a medium waist. I have a size 33/34 waist and this belt fits me well, it would also fit someone larger than I am, or someone smaller than I am, but I am not certain about the exact amount of give that it will have. Though, I have never rappelled with this belt before, mostly because I have never needed to, but also because I would not trust the quality of the materials and stitching to safely hold up my body weight. It would probably be able to withstand a bit of force, but I would definitely not recommend anyone using this for rappelling, even if you did not have any primary rappelling gear on hand. The quality of the stitching and the materials are still fairly high, even the Velcro has many years left to wear out, even after daily use. As expected, the dark grey finish on the metal parts has worn out a little bit, exposing the bare shiny metal, but it is not too bad. I would definitely recommend this to anyone seeking a comfortable military-styled belt, but again, I would not recommend this to anyone seeking a belt that is ready for rappelling. Perhaps it would be able to hold up, but I would not want to bet my life on it, nor should anyone else.
-Surprisingly high quality materials and stitching.
-Very nice coloring that does not seem to fade.
-Definitely good enough for daily use as well as high wear situations.
-The Velcro has yet to wear out and will likely stay strong for many more years.
-The dark grey coating on the metal parts has worn off a bit, but that has actually taken quite a while to occur so it is not exactly a strictly negative point.
-It is not suitable for actual rappelling situations, though any riggers belt should not be used as a primary rappelling rig. It is best thoughtfully invest in safety gear that should actually hold up the rigors of hard use in diverse and challenging conditions.
