For: VFC Full Metal M4 MK18 Mod1 AEG Airsoft Gun (Black)Product Information:
I see this product has no reviews - I own this rifle in it's FDE variant, and it's VERY worthy of a good review. It's an extremely solid, extremely nice high end AEG with absolutely BEAUTIFUL externals, nice internals, and a lot of cool features. As I stated before, I own the Dark Earth variant of this rifle (largely because of my desire to have the Mk18 RIS II in FDE) and I'd like to offer a bit of assurance in buying this rifle. While it has its issues like any other Marui-Type AEG, it's a very solid rifle that I'd recommend almost exclusively for experienced players. I did a build on this rifle to celebrate the team that I lead being sponsored. It's my last AEG before I move to other platforms, such as PTW, and I couldn't have picked a better model.
Trademarked Daniel Defense Mk18 RIS II. The finish on the dark earth variant is beautiful, I'm sure it's nice on the black as well.
True-to-spec 10.3" barrel, shockingly similar to the outer barrel on the VFC/Umarex Hk416 CQB.
Mock Gas Block and Gas tube - uncommon on Mk18 Mod1 models "out of the box" because of preventative measures taken by Madbull to discourage attaching to real rifles.
Stock rate of fire is outstanding with a nice battery - most people buying this rifle will be internally upgrading, but the performance with an 11.1v Lipo is up there with the best for the mean time.
Comes with a black metal flash hider.
Minor internal upgrades from factory.
Comes at a very comfortable out-of-the-box velocity for indoor or outdoor play - 380FPS.
Comes from factory with loose...well, pretty much everything. Be ready to take almost the entire external structure of the rifle apart, and tighten the screws/threads on essentially everything - Gas Block set screw, Buffer tube internal attachment screw and external nut, set screws at the connection of the two barrel segments, etc. Literally, basically everything. It's tough to do without causing minor external scuffing/damage, but that's breaking in rifles for you. The gas block literally slid down to my flash hider after a week of owning the rifle.
Piston and Tappet plate are EXTREMELY weak, inherent of VFC Gearboxes. They're made of a brittle, clear polycarbonate material that is inferior. For whatever reason, VFC will NOT fix this, even with it being a known problem.
Magazine release button is "Oldschool Marui" in that it must be pushed into the lower receiver, potentially causing damage. Nature of the beast.
TOLERANCES!!! They could be tighter, altogether. You have some somewhat significant stock wobble, and very slightly noticeable tolerance issues in other areas of the rifle.
All of this considered, this was my fair, and unbiased assessment of this rifle.
The negative attributes may scare some away, but the positive aspects of this rifle are FAR more than worth it. If you're looking for a more serious SOPMOD type weapon than your everyday M4, this is very likely the perfect rifle for you. Not only that...it's in black now!
