So the rifle is a very nice spring operated airsoft rifle. The construction of the rifle is metal and ABS plastic. The stock is NOT wood. What they mean by wood version is there are 2 models of the gun; IU-M1A (this one) is a faux wood stock made out of ABS plastic, and the IU-M1B is a ABS plastic stock that has a more modern looking grey stock (something I haven't seen sold). The charging handle, parts of the rear sights, and receiver construction is metal, but probably a pot metal; everything else is plastic. I ordered 2 additional magazines with the rifle and absolutely love them! They feel, and are very durable. Shooting the carbine is a absolute joy, and highly recommend it for those involve with backyard battles. Adjust the hop to your standards and ONLY USE .20, .23, or .25g bb's in the rifle; .12g whip around like crazy and besides that, they aren't very good for the gun (they jam often). I am very proud with my purchase and you can't go wrong with it especially for the price.
Shoots very efficiently (after cleaning the barrel and using high grade BB's)
Great bang for the buck
Looks very much like the real M1 or M2 carbine excluding the orange tip (I am a WWII Living Historian)
The rear sights are adjustable to your standards.
It's a fun little carbine that is great for targeting shooting and backyard battles.
I wish the stock was real wood.
Doesn't have as solid of a feel as I hoped, but is still good enough.
The magazines are a pain in the butt to load, and can be frustrating. I highly recommend buying extra magazines with the rifle.
