Maruzen P99 single and double action gas blowback handgun. I picked this up at a convention, and it's pretty sweet. I would say the effective range is between 100 to 125 feet, which is a solid distance for a pistol.
This gun is perfect for any James Bond fan, or anyone with small hands. I have medium sized hands, and the grip fits them so perfectly. It's like it was made for my hands.
The first trigger pull is double action, unless it's cocked. The double action pull is very realistic. The single action pull is incredibly short and crisp. It's like it responds to my very thoughts. And when the slide racks back, it's equally crisp and perfect. Every shot is snappy and accurate. There's a lot of plastic which cuts down on the weight, and also on the slide time and gas consumption. I can always get through a whole mag on one charge of gas.
fast action for speedy follow up shots
awesome trigger pull
gas consumption is better than a metal gun
realistic down to the last screw
ambidextrious mag release
powerstroking is possible
not all the plastic is that solid
a small piece of the return spring guide broke off. It still fires, but it's annoying that it broke
no spare parts, and tons of plastic. if it breaks, you're a little SOL and basically out over 100 bucks
No C02 magazines
Spare mags are expensive.
Bottom line: get this gun if you want realism. It's very real, and very cool. IF you're looking for a workhorse sidearm, get a KJW 1911 or a Umarex licensed C02 p99. The magazines are cheaper, it's still blowback and it's a lot more solid. I own all three guns, and they're all pretty great. I prefer the CO2's because of reliability. You can call me a kook if you like.
