I don't think you got a bad motor, because these motors are modified before they are shipped out.

What you have to remember about this motor is that it is strictly a high torque motor, and not a high speed/torque motor. This motor will not go past about 12-13 rounds a second regardless of what type of spring. I don't think this can go past an m140, maybe an m150. I tested this motor with a 9.6 volt and a stock spring, and I was getting 13 rounds a second.

Also keep in mind that with a high powered spring (such as an m140 or 150) unless you are using the systema magnum, you will need at least a 10.8 volt battery.

My previous setup was using mauri gears, and a SYSTEMA m120 spring. 360 with .25s. I was using an 8.4 volt battery, and I was getting the full 12 rounds a second out of this motor.

I changed my setup because my gears were getting worn out. I changed it up to systema torque up gears, guarder SP120 spring, and was getting 393 with .25s. with the 8.4 volt battery, i was only getting 10 rounds a second. I changed up to a 9.6 volt battery, and was getting the full 12 rounds a second.

there are 3 things that might affect your setup with ur ICS m4

gears - alluminum gears are lighter, and you will get more rpms. thats why when i put in my torque up gears, i was getting less rpms with the same battery

spring - what kind of m120 do you have. You will get more rpms with a systema m120, but might loose a small amount of fps. I use a guarder sp120 because they get more power, but less rpms. Thats also why my rpm dropped.

battery - although ur using a 9.6, 1700 mah isn't all that much. Also since its an m4, i'm guessing that u are using a mini battery. mini batteries in my opinion aren't worth getting: not enough power. Try a large battery (you can connect a large type to a mini connector, just connect the red wires, and the black wires.) with at least 9.6 volt and 3000 mah.

The ICS turbo 2000 is more of a high speed, high torque motor. Thats probably why u were getting more rpms with a lower battery. If you try using the ICS motor with a high end spring, it will probably blow out the motor. Thats where this motor comes in play.

Hope this helped.

i dont know if i just got a bad motor, but i bought this to replace an old, dying turbo 2000 in my ICS M4. all stock internals except for a m120 spring. and the ROF was lowered my probably 2 or 3 Rounds per sec. than the turbo 2000, which was pulling the M120 at about 12 rounds per sec. rather disappointed to say the least. that was using a fully charged 9.6v 1700 mah battery. swapped out the motors to see if it was just the battery, and the old turbo 2000 was shooting its same rate at about 12 rounds per sec. put the hummer 1300 back in and.. well.. still shooting slow.

so than after that, i put it in my G3sg1 that has a Systema complete M150 gearbox, that was downgraded to a M120S, that was being powered my a systema Magnum motor. and this motor; with a 9.6v 3300 mah battery wouldn't even pull the spring at all.

Ok I my hammer 1300, and it was funny how much better this motor was than my EG1000 that I previously had in my m16.

I installed this motor into my gun, that has an m120 in it, and a 8.4volt 3600 mah battery. At first I put this in and it didn't seem any faster than the old EG1000. Disapointed, I almost forgot to charge my battery, and after I did that, it was SO much faster.

I don't know how exactly how many RPMs this motor gives off for a specific spring. However, with mauri gears, a freshly charged 8.4volt 3600 mah battery, and an m120 spring, this motor gives a good 900 rounds per minute. If you use systema torque up gears, you'll get about 850 RPM. My old EG1000 barley got about 650 rpm with mauri gears. I prefer the mauri gears because they are faster than torque up gears, however they may not last long. Keep in mind that it is this fast with just an 8.4volt battery, just imagine if you had a 9.6 volt.

This motor is definately worth the money, you don't need any upgraded parts (gears, piston, etc.) to use this motor. This motor is right up there with the systema torque up motor, however it probably doesn't have as much of a kick as the systema magnum, but you need a ton of upgrade parts for the magnum. But let me tell you, the hammer 1300 must be pretty close.

One member S. Chan on airsoftgi made a good point (also probably knows more about motors than me), that only use this with springs such as an m120, otherwise the piston will not stop in place. He is right, I put a stock spring in my gun temporarily to find out the rpms with it (about 920) and after the semi function cut off the power, the motor wanted to keep spinning. Only use this with upgraded springs. This motor can probably pull up to an m150 spring, but in my opinion, you really only need about an m120 or m130. This motor can pull those like its nothing with the proper set up.

Hope this helped

Does anybody know if you need upgraded steel gears when you use this motor. I am thinking about getting this and replacing my old EG1000 with this motor.

Also does anybody know how much of a difference there is in performance between the two?

the hammer 1300 l is an awesome motor ... really easy to open and do fix .... but i only use this motor with a high power springs b.c high torque motors carry alot of momentum and will never make the piston stop in rest position with a low power spring

i have not yet tested one of these, however i hear these are great little motors. i have only heard one bad thing, and that guy was running his on a 10.6 volt battery.
copper cup bushings, steel pinion gear, and a solid frame. buy it man
