This gun is great, however you have to use at least .25 gram or .30 gram BB's if you want to get 120 ft. of accuracy. With .20 you get about 50 feet of accuracy. If you are thinking of buying this make sure that you won't be fighting at long distances. But this is definently a great deal. |

The 7.5 Diplomat is an outstanding weapon and shoots roughly 350 fps out of the box with about a six inch grouping at 150 feet. When I first received the gun it came in a nice box and was undamaged. The gun did not come with the red dot sight or the flip up sight. It did come with a 300 round magazine, a wall trickle charger, and an Echo 1 PEQ box.
Build-The 7.5 Diplomat is a very sturdy and well built weapon especially for $255. The RIS is all metal and does not wobble at all. There is a sound amplifier mounted as the flash hider and does actually increase the sound. When you are the one shooting it does not seem like that much of a difference in sound but if you are on the receiving end it sounds like a loud pop and you can not hear the annoying winding of the gears. The 7.5 is especially loud on fully automatic.
Performance-I ordered an ICS PEQ box and a 9.6 1700mah battery to use and the rate of fire is really nice. If I could guess I would say around 800 rounds a minute. My M249 shoots around 1000 rounds a minute and the 7.5 is a little bit slower than that. However it does have a high rate of fire and is around 350 fps. I recommend buying some kind of red dot scope with it. I mounted the PEQ box on the top rail, got a tri-rail riser mount and put a G&P Red/Green Dot Scope on top. If you put the PEQ box on the top rail like I did you have to get a riser mount for the red dots because the one pictured with the gun on this website is not high enough to see over the PEQ. With the G&P red dot that I have you have to buy a riser. Even the 30mm offset mount won't raise the sight enough. Also the pistol grip that comes with the 7.5 is different than the other Echo 1s. It is smoother and made out of a different material and I like it more than the others. You can also mount a variety of m203 grenade launchers but they have to be the RIS mounted versions not the ones that mount to the barrel because the RIS rails will block the mount.
Overall the 7.5 Diplomat is a great weapon for woodland courses or CQB. You can get a 3000 round C-mag and lay down some serious fire with it but I recommend you use a 9.6 battery instead of an 8.4 battery. You will get a much better rate of fire with the 9.6. I also recommend you get some kind of sight whether it is a flip-up sight or a red dot because the gun does not come with sights at all but it does have a rail for mounting optics and mounts where the carry handle and rear sight would normally be on this weapon. I have a 7.5 Diplomat and a M249 SAW and the 7.5 is a very good back up for that but I also like the 7.5 because it is much lighter that the SAW and I can move faster and not have to carry as much ammo. This is one of the best deals I have seen and I am very happy with this weapon. 5/5 stars.
P.S. I saw the CA M249 are only $570 now. If you have the money and you want a M249 buy it now before they run out. I wish I had waited and bought mine now rather than about 6 months ago when they were pretty expensive. Anyway both great guns and great prices.

I order the Airsoft GI diplomat and received the rifle on 13 July 2007. Rifle recieved undamaged and in perfect condition. I tested it and it works great. I added a NC star 30mm red dot scope. Looks very nice. I widh I had this refle, real version, in the US Marine Corps with in service.
Nice small and light package for a M16. The name suggest it being assign to US Embassy duty.
This completes my collection, VFC HK416, Toyko Marui M14 SOCOM, both airbrushed in Camo. This Diplomat will be airbrush in desert camo very soon.
AIrsoft GI provided excellent service and timely shipping. I would like recommend their technician and services for airsoft rifles and products.
Thanks again and best regard,
