Right off out of the box, the first thing you notice about this rifle - this thing is SOLID!!! It feels great! Every inch of this rifle says quality! If it weren't for the plastic orange flash hider, you'd swear you were holding real steel! It's heavy too! I think part of the weight, though, comes from the metal RIS that's installed. I was hoping they'd include the original hand guard too, just so I could see how it feels, but they didn't. The ASGI -installed RIS is very nice and solid, however there's just a teeny-tiny bit of wobble - nothing major and certainly not a deal breaker, but it's there.
How does it shoot? INCREDIBLY ACCURATE! I've pumped out about 200 rounds with it thus far and it has got an AWESOME kick to it! If you cut loose on full auto, your teeth will certainly rattle! It definitely adds to the realism. There was no noticeable straying of the rounds (.25g bbs) and I was able to get some pretty tight groupings from 80 feet even with the hard kick. That probably comes from years spent firing a real Bushmaster M4A3. This gun definitely has power and I don't look forward to being on the receiving end of shots from one of these! I don't have a chrono, but I am confident I'm getting well over 400fps right out of the box.
The mags are very nice, solid metal mags - and at $42 each, they're a steal! I bought two extra to go with the one that's included. (i'm probably gonna snap up a half-dozen more very soon!) They're very heavy and showed no sign of leakage. I was able to get about two full mags (100rds) out of one gas fill up (green gas). It's got such great power with green gas that I'm even more interested to see how it'll do with propane. My only gripe with the mags was that the gas nozzle doesn't fit very snug to the fill valve - but that's probably more of a down-side to the gas cannister than to the mag. The mags fit into the mag well very tightly with virtually no noticeable wobble.
I still can't believe that this gun was only $345! Just holding it and feeling it, you'd swaer it was at least a $500+ gun! Take my advice... if you think you'll need a rail system for add-ons, go ahead and spend the extra $10 and get the RIS system. You won't regret it and it's an incredible deal!
I've already enhanced it with a folding vertical foregrip, a flashlight, and a Barska red cross scope and it looks amazing. I've got a laser sight on order and that'll be the finish off the accessories! I haven't tried removing the flash hider yet, but hopefully I can swap it out for a black metal birdcage and that'll be the cherry on the cream pie! There's a small set screw on the bottom of the plastic birdcage, but I haven't tried loosening it yet. If it's glued on, that'll probably be the only downside to an otherwise FLAWLESS weapon!
If you're even remotely interested in this gun, don't hesitate to get it NOW!! It's going to be a HOT seller and they'll go fast! I got very lucky and ordered mine the moment they came in stock and I'm glad I did because they went out of stock the very next day!
