To start off, I have previously owned a AGM 614 AEG...so this was a much needed upgrade for me.

Out of the Box: The first thing I noticed was how sexy this rifle was. Everything except for two things were perfect for me, one being the orange flash hinder. The other was also unavoidable: the stock wobble. Of course, this is to be expected, and was a simple fix with electrical tape. I did find it to a nuisance that no iron sights came with it. After some time, I painted the "competition barrel" matte black, just for aesthetics. Overall, the trades, build, and parts were flawless. I love the medium length and full metal construction (and so does everyone at my local field!)

Performance: I found VFCs internals to be exceptional. It was very simple to strip the rifle. I literally need one tool to remove everything! With .2 or .23 BBs the range is ridiculous (150-200 ft,) and that's stock. However, with .25s the max is around 150...which is still pretty good. The biggest downside to me would be the hop-up. The feed tube for the bbs is so tight that .25s will literally float on the end of the tube once you remove a magazine. This requires you to put the rifle upside down to feed the last four BBs at the end of a game. Again, I prefer metal everything, and the acrylic is sort of off for the price. Nonetheless, getting a 6.04 inner is a plus. I plan on getting a ProWin Hop-Up soon to replace the stock hop-up. I've played about a dozen games and I can say that this rifle is amazing for field play, though it's size is a little finnicky in CQB until you learn how to maneuver it.

-Full-Metal Construction
-Simple Disassembly
-Very realistic
-Long Range
-Hard Hit!

-Cheap-ish hop-up
-Have to put it upside down and fire to render fully safe
-Long barrel (not CQB friendly, but it does specifically say 13" so that's a given.)

Ok, so first things first... Discloser. I have had this gun for a little over a year. When I got it, I did quite a bit of mod work including shims, new high torque motor, new helical gears, new 10 metal tooth piston, new magic barrel, a 140 spring, and I have played around with several hop-ups and nubs. I never really used the gun stock, but I do have alot of experience taking this thing down and what the internal qualities are like.

When I cracked this thing open, the first thing I noticed was how nice the gearbox itself is. Things just fit. On cheaper gearboxes I always seem to get that explosion of peices that always throws my trigger assembly all over the place (I HATE PIECING THE TRIGGER ASSEMBLY BACK TOGETHER). Putting things back in the gear box was also a breeze. It was overall the best gearbox I have ever worked with.

Next thing I noticed were the self shimming gears. I never used them, but the gun did seem to run just as well before I added the new gears and shimmed it as it did after. That tells me that things were being held pretty well by those self shimming gears. They are something that I am waiting to throw into another build and test.

Everything else seemed pretty standard to me. The only other thing that jumped out at me was how bland the motor was. I am not expert on motors but it seemed to have the same amout of resistance as a very cheap china motor I pulled from an s&k. There is nothing wrong with that, but it struck me as cheap for how nice the rest of the gun was.

As for exeternals, this gun is exatly what you see. I love the free float rails (very light) but I hate the silver barrel. The stock is a standard crain stock. The functioning bold catch is cheap, and while mine reassembled perfectly, that function never worked again. In all fairness, I am of the school of thought of "keep it simple and reliable".

The gear box is very very nice.
easy to work on and a fun to see what you can get it to do
the gun looks great
the rail system is awesome

The motor lacks luster for the price tag
The bold catch is kinda cool... but i dont want bells and whistles

First off, this gun has an incredible external bulid quality. The rail system is very light weight and it's faily easy to move the rail segments around. Internally this gun is solid, and at first performed extremely well. Unfortunately the one I received had a factory defect, the hop-up was messed up and I had to send it back to gi to get fixed as soon as I got it. Thankfully, Gi was very quick in fixing the issue, but that wasn't where the problem ended, after only about 2500 rounds the spring guide snapped in half during an op. Again Gi to the rescue, they fixed it quickly and I had it back within two weeks. The gun worked flawlessly for two months afterwards, but alas, it wasn't to last. A month after my warranty expired the piston stripped, which this time I had to fix it at my own expense. In conclusion, this gun is awesome, but it has some internal issues, which is odd for vfc and I'm sure it was just that I got a bad gun from the factory.

~ Rock solid externals
~ Very accurate
~ Awesome modular rail system
~ Great rate of fire
~ A bit pricey but you get what you pay for, this gun perfoms extremly well

~ This gun would have very few cons if it didn't have the factory problems
~ I had to send it back to be fixed twice, then fix it myself a third time
~ The fps seems to have worn down over time and now shoots about thirty fps less
~ The buffer tube has weakend over time
