Okay, so I have had this for about 8 months now. When I got the first one, it was damaged in the packaging. ASGI fixed that pretty quickly, so it wasn't that big of a deal. The second one, I kept.
So bad first.
I had a few problems with it.
One was that the trigger contacts were arcing onto the gearbox shell and that made shooting the gun weird. It would start the motor up, but it would cut out soon after. This happened on both semi and auto. A simple MOSFET fixed that.
The stock is splitting behind the trigger/receiver area. I slapped on some grip tape and it seems to have been a good quick fix.
It wasn't feeding right for a while. at first I thought it was the magazine at first, but I tried a few different ones and they all acted the same. After looking at it for a while i found it was the part of the hop up that meets the magazine. The lip was too small and wouldn't let the bbs through. I was at a field, so I took some extra grip tape I had in my car (I kind of like the stuff) and used it like sandpaper to shave it down.
Also, part of the front sight broke off after it fell. That should probably be expected though
Onto the good.
The charging handle sounds great. It is heavy and metallic sounding and beats most other guns I've heard.
The gearbox is extremely easy to take apart, with only 3 screws holding it together. It mostly takes standard V2/V3 parts, except for the cylinder head, trigger harness and maybe the tappet plate and nozzle.
The shoulder thing really does go up.
Other miscellaneous stuffs.
A 9.6 volt will get a decent trigger response.
If you take off the buttplate, you can fit an extremely large battery in it, but if you don't want to undo 2 screws, you can only really fit a nunchuck sized battery or smaller in there.
The gun is a good 10 pounds.
Here's a list of mods I've done to it since I've gotten it in chronological order:
-M110 spring change
-Prometheus purple bucking
-SHS high torque motor
Overall, I would recommend this to someone who is willing to work on it and not someone who is getting their first or second gun.
-M14s are sexy beasts
-Lots of battery space
-slightly underpowered motor
-Magazines are expensive (about $30)
