This is my first AEG purchase, and I must say I am very happy with it. I was originally looking at the more expensive guns (CA, Tokyo Marui, ICS), but a friend said these JG/ECHO1 guns are still quality guns for a much lower price.

Pros: Strong construction, low price, quite realistic. Battery gives quite nice power. I haven't had time to shoot it too much, but it lasts well through the shooting I did do. I am a fan of H&K guns, and the MP5 is definitely one of my favorites, so this gun was a natural choice for me.

Cons: The battery insertion is sort of hard to get used to, but not too bad. The fake silencer can be removed, but the tabs that hold it on seem to break easily (nothing a little super glue can't fix). The rubber rings that help hold the front grip on fall out easily, but some super glue works well on those too. And, finally, there is the manual. Terribly translated Chinese (in classic airsoft form), but you should be able to figure it out with a little tinkering Most of the cons are cosmetic, and have nothing to do with the function of the gun itself.

One other note: Either I blew the fuse on the first try, or it did not go through shipping well, but either way I needed to replace it. Luckily, I had a few 15A 250V fuses on hand for something else. This was not a major problem, but if you get this gun, charge the battery, and it does not show signs of power, that is something to check.

Sorry about the long review, I just wanted to present everything on the gun as it is.

Damn good gun! I own an ICS AK and this gun is comparable in quality, power, and accuracy to that gun, and only $90? I read a previous review stating the same thing, how cheap the gun is!
Enough with small talk, let's get down to bidness..
This MP5 shoots around 350 to 380 fps seriously, it will penetrate deep into the oranges and persimmons that grow in my back yard, and I wonder how much pain I can inflict on my enemies with this gun?...
The gun's stock works really well with only a slight wobble, but nearly unnoticeable when you are in a firefight...but since these are airsoft guns, wouldn't you really call it something like a BBfight or what not?
Ignoring my senseless pondering, this gun is also extremely accurate. For 90 dollars, you don't anticipate getting a very precise-shooting gun, but this gun disproves that theory. The sights are are adjustable and gun with four selectings of sight for the rear sight, and the gun is dead on accurate nearly all the time. The hop-up works some, and helps to turn this SMG into an accurate rifle-like weapon.
I definately recommend this freakin MP5, it is sweet.
The '50 rd' clip I thought was coming with it actually turned out to be a 200 round high cap mag. Even more barrels of fun..and it works pretty well.
Peace out

This is a great aeg for the price you pay. Out of the box the first thing I noticed was the fit and finsih of the gun, no wobbles or loose parts. The extendable stock works great and is rock solid and puts the gun at a very comfortable (for me) firing postion. The sights are great, much better than the ones that came with my Echo-1 G-36. Very accurate up to 100 feet with what seems to me a consistent rate of fire and velocity (fps). Installing the battery is a snap, after releasing two pins on each side of the foregrip it simply slides forward to provide access to the battery compartment. The wiring is top notch and the battery fits in tightly with no play or moving about.

The only complaint I have regarding this gun are the two pins that hold the foregrip in place, once I removed them I found that they are held in place by two small rubber washers that unfortunately came loose and fell out of the gun. It will be a simple enough thing to glue them back in place but until such time I have not even used the pins and the foregrip has stayed in place very well with just friction.

Some people claim to have a difficult time with the magazine feeding, I have had no problems at all with both the standard lo-cap that came with the gun or the high-cap mags that I ordered seperately, they lock in place well with no wobble and feed great. The fire selector switch, while a little flimsy feeling, works fine and I have had no problem getting it to lock into semi-auto mode (another complaint from other users).

All in all this is a great aeg and for the price you cannot go wrong with it either as your main weapon or as a backup.

This gun is a tank! Period! My buddy Travis just bought this gun, and brought me over to his house to check it out. Right out of the box, it felt incredible, it was very heavy for its size, and all around excellent quality. We went outside to chrono. the speed of the bb using a coke can( Also known as the "poor mans chronograph"). And sure enough it just kept getting better. It shot absolutly clean throught both sides of the can shooting it from 10 inches away. This means we have it pegged around 370-380 fps(Note: we used high quality .25 bbs). As for the accuracy, it was near flawless as when the hop up was adjusted, it was very precise to the target. The magazine quality is fairly decent, it is a wind up, and generally is reliable. The "J" stock pulls out, and is incredibly durable and sturdy as is the whole gun. I am a fan of the mp5 guns. For this one in particular, i realy like. It is sturdy, shoots hard, and is very durable and accurate. One of my favorite mid-level AEG's.

For those of you who are new to the sport, you can basically ignore everything the previous review mentioned. This gun is actually the same as the Echo 1. Echo 1 is an American rebrand of these excellent guns. There is NO difference between this and the Echo 1. They shoot hard out of the box, are reasonably accurate in stock form, and are actually pretty well shimmed, which was a surprise for a Chinese gun. Even better, they are also upgradeable with aftermarket parts--unlike some of the other Chinese guns, JG/Golden Bow/Echo 1 guns are almost complete clones. The finish on this gun is great, and it works great for CQB matches.

If you want your gun to last for a while, I recommend you regrease the gearbox, should you have the appropriate knowhow, and refrain from firing extended bursts on full-auto. The biggest difference that I've noticed between this gun and my CA MP5 is that the wiring and motor aren't nearly as good, so it doesn't handle being used as if it were a support weapon terribly well. Stick to controlled bursts, and rely on aiming rather than ROF, and it will last you for a long time.

I am normally a TM or CA owner all the way. I decided I would try a clone aeg to see if they actually are what they are cracked up to be. I would have to say I am impressed with the rifle for the price overall. The body itself is a nice abs material and the fps and rof is the same as a tm. The motor/gearbox is a little whiny but im sure some gearbox grease will help it some. I say overall less that 100$ it is worth it by alot whether its your first aeg or a loaner its worth the money.
