For: Airsoft GI Desert G4-A1 Hard w/ Noveske 10" Rail Blowback Version AEG Airsoft Gun (Tan/Custom)Product Information:
Let's start off with the body, and work our way down. The body is a high density, lightweight polymer shell. They should call it high impact. The Techs at Airsoft GI have done drop tests on it, and so have I. I dropped the gun from 12 and 16 feet. I did it onto grass, whereas the GI test was on carpet with (presumably) concrete underneath. The gun remained intact and functional. I wouldn't even attempt this on my other guns. They wouldn't survive a 6 foot fall, even onto grass. The polymer gives this gun a very lightweight quality. A lighter gun keeps you in the game longer; it makes you move faster, and it makes you a more accurate shooter. The rail system is just over 10 inches long. This leaves plenty of space for a vertical grip, flashlight, laser, PEQ box, grenade launcher, or anything else you might want to have with you in a game. I, personally, use the VFC PEQ-15, and a King Arms Stubby Grip. As well all free float rails, it does become loose from time to time. I use a Madbull RAS Fix and the problem is gone. The flash hider is removable, and has 14mm CCW threads for adding whatever flash hider or mock suppressor that you'd like. The crane stock is designed very well. The battery is easy to install; the wire management is easy to do, and you have 6 positions to choose from.
Internally, the gun is fantastic. I run a 11.1v lipo on mine. It gets me 20BB/SEC. That, combined with 400FPS makes this gun a total beast. It always shoots smoothly too. The gearbox sounded like it was shimmed perfectly, even right out of the box. I can tell why GI chose this gun to make a series off of; it's absolutely fantastic. I've run about 15,000 rounds through the gun, and it shows minimal wear on the piston. The hop up bucking has some issues. I just don't think it's hard enough to affect the BB. I switched the bucking for a Madbull Blue, and now the hop up works brilliantly. I've got at least 150 feet of range.
