New to airsoft? Here are some safety tips for airsoft guns that we recommend following.

Siegetek gears are CNC Machined out of Chromium Molybdenum steel and are the strongest gears available for TM compatible AEGS. Each gear is precisely calculated and accurately produced which provides maximum efficiency and durability over traditionally produced gears. Siegetek gears are incredibly thick to provide higher bearing surface and improves structural durability. Siegetek gears are used in some of the most hardcore builds in airsoft and have been come to known for their quality and durability, install these gears in your build and they will not disappoint.

Product Information:
Unbelievable gears. I can't believe AirsoftGI is carrying them now. I've had these (and other Seigetek) gears in my guns for two years now, and they're indestructible. I have the Revolution set in my high-speed gun shooting 38 RPS, and I have the Torque gearset in my high power gun shooting 540 FPS.

Pros:
Everything

Cons:
You have to have a really good gearbox to put these into. No crappy bushings or china-made gearbox shell. Have them professionally installed if you aren't an experienced gearbox tech.

Product Information:
Siegetek gears are hands down some of if not \\\"the\\\" best as far as gears go. I have build many high end guns with them and custom gearboxes for customers over the years with some of the guns pushing into the hundreds of thousands of rounds now without any issues. The gears do not wear like typical injection molded and cast gears and will likely outlast all other internals of a gun no matter the brand or the abuse you put it through.

However, it would appear that that last run from the factory had a sever lack of quality control. I order two sets when they were on sale and both sets are, effectively, useless. Set 1 was never de-burred from the production line and even after gently and precise filing and de-burring (I am a certified machinist) they still are not right. Additionally the bevel gear was not properly cast and is off-spec to the point where it causes light binding with the sector gear. Set 2 was properly finished exterior wise, but was even more off spec, so much so that the spur and bevel gears experience HARD binding at a certain point when spinning. Set 1 makes a lot of gear noise when under stress and cycling, and set 2 outright screams and undergoes a SIGNIFICANT sub-par RPM effect due to the binding. Both sets are utter trash for the builds they were slotted to go into.

Siegetek\\\'s are known for both their absurb strength and very quiet noise levels, of which the noise levels of these two sets I have are unacceptable, especially for the price. For reference, the above sets were testing in multiple top of the line cast and CNC gearbox shells with both bearings and ceremic bushings and shimmed to complete perfection. The outcomes were always the same.

Pros:
- Absurd Strength
- (*Normally*) Near Silent Operation
- Absurd Wear Life

Cons:
Until the two from above, there has never been a single con or a single bad thought regarding these gears. However, given the condition of the two sets that I currently have, either the factory had a really bad day or, like many great brands, Siegetek is becoming a victim of its own success. Be weary of the newer sets, because I now sit here with $250 in useless gears that I am unable to get my money back on. For the risk, there are better options that can insure a better outcome than gambling the large sum of money.

Staff Answer:
It depends on what sort of performance you want out of your gun. Most players prefer high speed gears over high torque gears. Generally, any gearset that has a ratio of 20 is fine for general airsoft play.

Staff Answer:
It represents the ratio of the gears. The standard ratio for gear is generally around 18. A lower number means that it is a "high speed" gear, which means that each revolution of the motor results in more distance covered in the sector gear. Lower ratio gears means a higher rate of fire, but require a very strong motor for turning even basic springs. A higher ratio gear allows you to pull a very stiff spring more easily, but at the cost of a lower rate of fire.
