The ICS AK74 RIS System is designed as a replacement handguard for the ICS AK-74. The AK RIS System has rails all along the handguard that will allow the mounting of accessories such as flashlights, lasers, vertical foregrips, etc. Also, this RIS system features a rail that runs along the top of the upper receiver, so a magnification or red dot scope can be mounted on an AK. Wow this thing makes the original upper and lower hand guard look bad.
Even though it could take a while to put on it certainly kicks ass.

Despite the price, I liked the idea of having a full RIS railing system for my ICS AK-74. It was originally tough to install on my AK, but not impossibly hard. Honestly, the rear rail that covers the receiver doesn't look all that great on my AK, in my opinion. As well, I use a heavy Soviet night vision scope (Over one US pound), and it actually bends this rail down a bit, until it rests on the receiver. As well, this rail will twist slightly under weight. If you didn't guess, it's all made of ABS plastic, not metal. That was a disappointing discovery. However, leaving aside the top rail, the hand guard rails are stunning on my AK-74. But, I'll be getting a METAL side mount to compliment them.
Pros:
- One of the few good looking rails for your AK's hand guard.
- The hand guard rails are sturdy, and fit well.
Cons:
- Very expensive.
- Made of plastic, not metal.
- Rear rail is definitely not sturdy with heavier scopes.

I bought this for my AMD-65. Had to modify it more than i'd like but I bought this knowing it might be a possibility. Nothing a dremel can't fix. It looks pretty mean once I got it on there. The whole reason why I wanted this is so I could mount my x3zoom + red dot above the battery cover. I bought a rail/battery cover combo from another site and it was too short. Glad this one worked out.

Light Weight
Holds everything I need
Cons:
(not really cons for me, but maybe for others)

I ask because upon appearance they look compatible. I noticed the "only for ICS" remark. (If it will work I want one)
