Description: This Systema metal hop up is designed for those who have upgraded their Tokyo Marui plastic bodies to metal bodies. Most plastic body M4/M16 have two piece hop up units, when upgrading to a metal body you also need to upgrade to a metal hop up unit. This is the perfect metal hop up to get because it will seal against the gearbox, flawlessly feed BBs, and it is fully adjustable to put the right amount of backspin on each BB.
Specifications: Manufacturer: Systema Package Includes: Hop unit, adjustment wheels and springs

Reading the stock hop up wasnt very good for the VFC SR-15 E3 IWS was ordering, I ordered one of these too. It came in shortly after my gun did and I immediately went to install it. First thing I noticed was the middle gear is completely teethed, there is no stopper. I wasnt thrilled, but I went on and tried it out. I shot and I had no hop. Turned it all the way on, and still no hop. Examining it, the nub was too soft to bush down on the bucking (ironic because it was a Systema bucking). I put in my stock nub and it shot fine. This is someone irrelevant though, because you should be getting an SCS anyways (mine was out of stock at the time).
Then I noticed my bolt catch wasnt functioning properly. The bolt plate was rubbing on the gears for the hop up, hard enough it would actually change the setting on my hop up. I tried trimming the adjustment gear, but it still rubbed. I modified my stock gears to fit the Systema chamber, and it barely clears the adjustment gear, but hits the middle gear (which as thin as it already is, I dont want to shave). Obviously, for those who dont have a function bolt catch, this is irrelevant, but could be a problem for those who do. It actually got bad enough it got stuck, and I over-stretched the bolt plate and charging handle springs trying to get it out (luckily VFC sent me new ones for free).
Runs a little wide
No stopper on the middle gear
Nub was too soft

The Systema Metal Hop-up Unit, is one of the best. The material it is made of is very good, the edges are smooth, and precise. Fits very VERY nicely into my G&G Gr-16 Commando. I am proud to say i have this hop-up, because it provides, GREAT range, i can hit a torso sized target at 180feet with almost every bb in a 4 shot burst. I love it! Use this and the Systema Bucking and you have a very accurate gun. But!! The turn wheels could be much better! The last wheel that pushes down the nub lever, does not have a stopping point! So i replaced all the wheels with the stock G&G Hop-up wheels.
makes great air seal
bumps up accuracy, range and fps
Bad turn wheel
bad springs(too hard)

Systema Metal Hop Up Unit for the M-16 / M-4 Series. All metal body, plastic gears, etc.
I have to say that this thing is pretty much a piece of junk. I don't think that it was because I got a bad one. It works as designed and intended. After I realized it was slipping, I broke it back down, gave it an inspection, reassembled, and even tightened the screw a little more and then reinstalled. The slipping improved, but was still apparently there. I disassembled it yet again to look at the mechanics of the gears, and noticed that it was a design flaw internally. The curved "comma" shape to the riser to the fulcrum makes for easy slippage. This also tipped me off to something I had suspected it was doing when adjusting, and that was it also makes a 360° revolution and pops back down to the lowest setting, which means that if you are are trying to go to the highest hop and back it down for adjustment purposes, it would slip while turning it, or slip (even back) when the rifle was shot. to make things a little frustrating.
I took my stock (plastic) G&G GR15 Hop-Up, played with it, inspected it, took it apart, and reassembled it, and installed it, and shot it. It worked marvelously; as a hop-up should be working. I am disappointed that my stock plastic hop up performs better than my systema metal hop up unit.
The other hop ups that I have toyed with do not have a 360° rotation, and will stop when adjusted all the way up and all the way down, and as far as I can tell don't have major slippage issues. Being as though this is pretty unique; I am rating this product as bad, and for $40 - generally a bad investment.
All Metal Body
Appears to make an excellent seal.
Mags don't have a problem with it.
Full 360° rotation of the sprocket with riser for the fulcrum.
