The Umarex H&K UMP .45 Ellite AEG Airsoft Gun By ARES is one of the top of the line sub machine guns being offered by Umarex. Exterior, the airsoft gun features a polymer body with etched H&K licensed trademarks. The front of the gun features a tri rail system allowing for the installation of multiple tactical accessories such as flashlights, lasers, and vertical grips. The top optic rail will accommodate most flex and red dot sights. The fire selector is completely ambidextrous and is great for both right, and left handed shooters. The folding stock solidly constructed with a rubberized cheek weld and buttplate for maximum ergonomics. With the stock folded, this gun is only about 18 inches, which is a great length for all CQB fire fights.
The interior of the Umarex UMP .45 Elite is equally as impressive, with the specialized ARES version 3 all metal gearbox. This gearbox features an electric blow back system, and a quick spring change system. That, along with 7mm steel bushings and bearings, make this gun cycle very efficiently. The functional charging handle allows for the famous "HK" slap, and also will reveal the adjustment wheel for the hop up unit. The trigger especially features a microswitch, which removes the need for a clunky fuse and also helps minimize trigger pull. Overall, the ARES UMP .45 Elite is a great choice for all airsoft players looking for a Law Enforcement / Special Forces loadout, or a CQB set up.

I bought this gun during the holiday sale. it's a nice looking gun in general and made of a nice polymer. the gun has some weight to it too. i am not sure if it is, but it feels heavier than my metal cybergun AK. I appreciate that the gun comes with metal rails.
I'll have to agree with the previous review that the battery door mechanism is a very bad design. there's a little pin that locks the door that you have to push in to open, but when you do, it flies out. there's some sort of spring mechanism underneath it that shoots it out because it's not attached with glue or anything. this pin is very small so you can lose it easily if you are not careful.
The selector switch is not the greatest, but i do hear audible clicks for all 3 settings (safe, semi, full auto).
my biggest peeve is the plastic orange tip. it's not a plastic cap over a metal barrel tip, the whole thing is plastic. from the picture online, it might appear to be metal due to the shine, but it is not. hopefully there is some way to replace this piece.
i have not played with it yet so i cannot comment on it's performance. i wanted to get this gun due to it's small profile for cqb. i'll update after i play with it.
folding stock is nicely done
trademarks are a nice touch
stupid plastic tip
battery door latch mechanism
you can see a seem running over the top of the gun. not a fan of looking at it.

As a previous owner of the Umarex UMP 45 sportline version, I am very disappointed with this "elite" version. The battery door is poorly designed with a tiny latch and spring that fly out every time you collapse the stock. This will drive you crazy. You can't access the battery without losing the pieces that hold the battery door closed. Also the blowback on this gun is terrible. In my first few matches the gun jammed twice. The ejection port cover gets stuck partway when trying to feed a BB and the motor jams. I was unable to clear the jam without separating the upper and lower. Decreasing the hop up and using a jamming rod were unsuccessful in getting the gun to fire again. I feel that the internal design on this gun is awful. I was also disappointed that the gun does not have good trigger pull. During semi automatic fire you have to hold the trigger down until the motor completes its revolution. No smart trigger that allows you to tap. Tapping the trigger also causes jams. The selection switch is gummy and has no audible click from semi to auto. I absolutely feel the sportline version was a better gun, despite the ABS body.
The only positive to the elite version is the texture of the polymer body versus the ABS body on the sportline.
Battery door latch and spring will go missing on first use
Sticky fire selection switch
Poor trigger response
Electric blowback jams the gun motor
Cheap charging handle mechanism
Barrel still has a giant PLASTIC orange cap with no hope for a mock supressor
