The Karabiner 98 Kurz, also known as the Kar98K, was a bolt action rifle developed from a line of Mauser military rifles. The K98K was used by the German Wehrmacht, and made famous by its use in World War 2. The Kar98K was a bolt action, internal magazine-fed military rifle. Designed similar to the real gun counterpart, the Red Fire Kar-98k is an extraordinary replica for collectors and airsoft players alike. The externals of the gun feature a well finished wood stock, steel bolt, and unique serial number to replicate the real gun counterpart. The Kar-98K also features an internal gas system as well as a detachable magazine system. Although the detachable magazine is not true to its real counterpart, this makes the airsoft gun far more useable. Lastly, there are two sling mounting points in the front and rear of the rifle as well. Overall, this airsoft gun is a very unique yet functional airsoft gun that is a must for collectors and airsoft players alike.

I've put about 70 or so round through this gun and i have only one grip... poor magazine.
It leaked about as bad as it gets. Nearly the entire base on the mag was leaking gas, RMA sucks so i used silicone around the entire base (nice even thing strip) and it has extremely little to no leaks. It sucks but the rifle is just superb.
From my limited testing, using WE .30 gram BB's its shoot AT LEAST 180 feet, the hop up is gradual but very effective, my next step is to test out some EF .32's.
It fires very consistant, hop up adjustment is very very easy and stays in place easy. It uses the TM VSR10 hop up and barrel system so upgrades will be plentiful.
I'd say the max range is 210+ FT with relatively good groupings, a man sized target is guaranteed hit at 170 FT. Waiting for a real steel scope mount and later a long eye relief scope is definitely needed.
Bolt is very smooth and simple, hop up is a breeze with great upgrade potential, 500-520 FPS, maybe higher, haven't chrono'd yet.
The wood is beautiful with a fantastic finish.
Great range for a stock gun, 200+ FT.
Accuracy is pretty good, body shots very easily done at 150-170 FT.
Will only get better with perfect hop up adjustment and at least .30's if not .32's.
Horribly leaky mag. Needs silicone/ new O-rings badly.

I've put around 600 rounds through this, so I figured I would write a review. With airsoft gi .28 gram bb's, I am able to get at least a 9 inch grouping at 100 feet, unsupported with iron sights. It doesn't seem PPS is making green gas magazines for this yet, only c02; the search for Tanaka magazines are barren as well. The finish and quality of the wood is very nice. I can get a little more than 2 mags worth off of one fill of gas with little hinderance on accuracy. The hop up is easily adjusted on the bottom with a coin, long fingernail, butter knife, paper clip, or screw driver. Bolt pull is fairly smooth, however it does get hung up occasionally when lifting or lowering the handle. After 600 rounds, I have noticed a very faint rattle above the trigger inside the stock. I have yet to inspect it, however, the gun has been functioning perfectly fine. The center of balance of the rifle is directly infront of the magazine well, which is very good considering the length of the rifle. I was fairly dissapointed to discover that the cleaning/unjamming rod was purely aesthetics. On the bright side, it is made of the same robust metal as the rest of the gun, and will not break anytime soon, or hopefully ever. The same goes for the shroud over the front sight, which can be removed to adjust the sight for windage.
-Accurate enough for my needs (100-120 feet indefinitely with .28's)
-Gas efficient (a big pro if planning on using as a sniper)
-Robust / Reliable
-Bolt and trigger pull
-Very easy to field strip, clean, and maitnence
-Magazines are a pain in the butt to find
-Unjamming rod isn't real
-Holds 10 rounds (could be a pro, a little more realistic)

Upon receiving the rifle, I was astonished by the neat packaging and nice hefty weight. When I lifted the rifle out of the box, I could immediately tell it was built with quality materials. No wobble anywhere and nice wood construction (not the orange chinese wood most guns come with). Everything is metal and the bolt is made of steel. stock 6.03 barrel gives great accuracy with .28 gram bb's. If skilled you can top load the rifle. i prefer doing this instead of taking my magazine out. (you do have to remove the magazine to fill gas though)
Overall an excellent rifle that performs very well. Very good for WWII games, snipers, and players that want to stand out.
-not to heavy not to light
-can be top loaded if needed
- nice trades
- magazines are a b**** to find, at least right now
- low capacity (11 rounds)
- cleaning rod doesn't actually come out of the gun (not a big deal)
