Just got this gun today. First thing I noticed, is that this gun is extremely well built. No wobbles whatsoever. Exactly what I was expecting from a CA.Well, I must confess, the trigger guard is a little loose, but nothing that can't be fixed in a few minutes. And the other issue I had, which I also read about, is the charging handle/bolt not staying locked back. After about 10 times throughout the day just messing with it, the bolt stopped locking. All I need to do is just slightly shift it, and it will lock though. On the other review, I believe the person said they just had to bend a little part, and it worked like new. So don't be alarmed, this can be fixed.
One thing I kept reading about with this gun, was the rails were to "sharp" on the edges. I thought they were just being wussies. But legit, they are sharp as hell, put on the rail covers.
Ive put about 1,000 bb's through it so far. The ROF is pretty decent compared to other CA's ive owned in the past. Its maybe pushing 15 bbps, 16 tops with my 9.6. I was very surprised at the trigger response with this gun. Much quicker than I expected.
It has a pretty decent range. I could hit targets pretty easily at 100+ ft without any issues. ASGI chronographed my gun at 398 with .20's, but im skeptical. It seems to be shooting a bit hotter than that. If you stick a tightbore in this, and a nice hopup setup, this gun will hit easily 150-200 ft accurate. I have no doubt in my mind.
This gun is a great buy.
Pros:
- High FPS out of the box
- Very sturdy
- Good Accuracy at moderate range.
- Awesome trademarks IMO
- Can fit huge battery's in this gun
- The rail system is great, needless to say
Cons:
- My gun's trigger guard was loose. Nothing major. Can't really put it against this gun. Its far to minor.
- Bolt locking mechanism stops catching after some use. But can be easily fixed. Once again, minor.
Those are the only cons I have found so far. This gun shoots great!
First off this gun is absolutely amazing. Amazing referring to both external and internal quality. I received this gun yesterday and so far I am very impressed. The build construction is mainly aluminum, so it is surprisingly lightweight to be a .308/7.62x51 modeled rifle. The only plastic parts are the pistol grip and the stock (as found on the real firearm) This gun also came with three (3) CA rail covers. This is good for protecting your hands because this rail is fairly sharp. The gun has no wobble ANYWHERE! It feels as if it is just one solid piece of metal! This guns range and accuracy is incredible and with a scope or optic this makes a great DMR/Sniper platform. I would recommend this gun to anyone thinking about a DMR type loadout.
Pros:
Lightweight.
Full metal construction (Aluminum)
DPMS LR-308 Trades
Realistic sounding imitation bolt. (I own a real steel M16 and the sound is fairly realistic)
Great Range/Accuracy
Free Rail Covers
Metal Flash Hider
400+ Fps
Cons:
Bolt catch doesn't really work very well. (Very rarely catches the bolt, and it doesn't lock very well.) I wouldn't recommend sticking your finger in there without holding the bolt back manually.
I have mixed feelings about my Classic army ar-10. It has been a bit of a lemon as I have had many electrical problems with this gun. It definitely has it s pros and cons.
Pros:
INSANE range out of the box
Looks amazing with the trademarks
great gearbox
Very accurate
feels very sturdy
Cons:
Bad electical
I have had to send it back to Spartan to have sodering redone, I have had to have the trigger contacts repaired, and have had the motor burn up all within three months. Every time I actually used it at my local field something new would go wrong. Now hopefully that pretty much all the electrical has been replaced or redone I won't have many more problems.
