This Caspian 1911 Single Stack has a metal slide (compatible with the TM 1911) and lower frame. The blow back action is operated by high pressure gas, such as green gas, red gas, or propane. The functional grip safety and slide safety make its operation safe for all users. An attachment point for a retention lanyard has been included to prevent the loss of the gun during high activity. The reinforced metal parts include the outer barrel, chamber, recoil spring rod, slide stop, slide safety, hammer, and trigger. The internal upgrade parts include reinforced recoil spring, hammer spring, firing pin, and a extreme high flow valve. Due to its high velocity, it consumes just as much gas as an SUV =) and rapid fire might hinder its optimum performance. That is the reason why it comes with an additional FREE magazine!!!!!

Employee Review:
Recently we have seen many reincarnation's of America's venerable 1911 pistol. WE is no stranger to the manufacturer of 1911 style gas blow back airsoft pistols, having great success with their stylish series of Hi-Capa pistols. Their pistols have offered both full metal construction and compatibility with the more powerful red and green gases. And it is no exaggeration to say that the WE 1911 single stack is their best pistol yet.
The full metal body gives it a feel and weight that you do not see in other stock brands like the Tokyo Marui or Western Arms 1911s. If it wasn't for the orange tip I could swear that I was holding the real article. Its operation is almost identical to that of the real single action M1911 designed so many years ago by John Browning. The design includes a realistic magazine release, slide stop, and hammer safety. Also, for added benefit the magazine incorporates a new loading system that allows for quick loading without the benefit of a speed loader. It will not only save you time but it will save your fingers.
The only limitation that I encountered was the inability to rapidly fire. I do not claim to be an expert on physics, however the problem would seem to relate to the cooling of the gases in the magazine. The magazine cools down too quickly, so the gases fail to expand and reducing the recoil of the slide till it is unable to move back. The problem isn't unprecedented and has been seen in other gas blow back designs in the past. However, WE had the forethought to include a second magazine to help solve this problem.
Overall, I would say that the WE 1911 is an excellent firearm for its value. Like all Airsoft guns it has its own inherent flaws, but for those looking for a realistic handgun and are willing to take there time with well aimed shots I would recommend this gun.

For those that don't know, this IS the WE 1911 Government, but with better internals (supposedly) and a Caspian slide instead. I do WW2/Nam airsofting probably 5% of the entire time on the field, so I'm not overly concerned about it. As for why the plain WE 1911A1 is rated so well and this so poorly... I have no idea.
In a standing, unsupported position with the wind blowing cross-wise (i.e. normal conditions... who plays airsoft in 70 degrees with 0 wind in a basement?) I was able to hit a tree slightly thinner than your average geared-out 'softer FAIRLY consistently at 90 ft. Any closer than that, say, 75ft, and you would be on target each time, pretty much guaranteed.
This gun also comes with just 1 mag, unlike its vanilla counterpart. Not worth the fancy trades, in my opinion. The only thing I would be worried about is longevity - but I have owned and used 4 different brands of GBBs, and they all break down over time. People are always the harshest on the new kid.
This gun, or the other variations by WE are highly recommended by me - I have been playing airsoft since late 2002. I am also an amateur airsmith being slowly taught by the Buffalo, NY area's master airsmith.
Also - for first-time buyers or casual browsers - ASGI is the place to go to buy airsoft equipment. I had a slight problem with this order, I had actually ordered the vanilla 1911 from WE and recieved this, (with only 1 mag). I called up Tim at customer service, and in less than a minute, Time had me taken care of with a polite tone and a mag shipped to me. Best customer service I have ever had in my time playing the sport.
