New to airsoft? Here are some safety tips for airsoft guns that we recommend following.

The G&G Full Metal M14 Ver. 4 is the latest and greatest M14 on the market, not just the best M14 from G&G, it outdoes everything else out there. The Version 4 M14 from G&G is the most realistic, the most upgradeable, the best performing and feeling M14 right out of the box. The trigger spring assembly has been redesigned for better trigger response. The sector gear is equipped with an 8mm ball bearing for maximum friction reduction. The tappet plate guide track has been extended to ensure proper feeding. The gearbox and the gears have be re-casted for extra strength. The piston head has been upgraded for optimum compression, and a fuse was added for extra safety. This M14 field strips just like the real one, likewise it has a functional bolt catch. The battery compartment is big enough to house a large 9.6v battery. G&G has really outdone themselves this time, if your are a fan of the M14 and you want a good performing and reliable gun you have to consider this one.

Product Information:
After working and and using a buddy’s G&G M14, I knew I wanted one.

I got my M14 and immediately test fired it and wasn’t overly impressed.
I was able to hit a target at 160ft, but in stock form the gun did not shoot lasers like my buddy’s upgraded M14 (obviously). Stock spring I believe is a M100 - FPS 330-340fps.

Figured I worked on a enough M4 variants I could figure out how to work on a G&G M14 internals. At first it was a bit intimidating but easy enough to figure out. I’ve taken apart the mechbox 4-5 times since then to tinker and adjust until I was finally satisfied with the results. The gun gets easier to work on each time I break it down.

Two things to note: I’ll list this in the cons section. The first time I gentle cracked open the mechbox the tappet plate snapped with ease and figured that was the main reason why a reinforced tappet plate is sold. The reinforced tappet plate works great and better quality.

The second issue is I was sliding the stock air nozzle on the cylinder head nozzle and half the lip on the air nozzle completely separated from the nozzle with hardly any stress being applied during testing how smooth the air nozzle moved on the nozzle.
The rest of the internals inside the gun were average to above average in quality. Just those two plastic parts – the plastic seemed rather brittle. I’m thankful I discovered this before actually putting the gun to use during a game!

With my M14 I followed some online DYI mods that you can find on the net.
Leaving most internal parts stock, just upgrading internal parts as they fail.

The M14 is a longer than average rifle with a bit of weight to it. Wood stock of course is a bit heavier than plastic stock. I prefer the plastic stock because I planned on painting it and main reason for the larger battery compartment. One thing to note, the G&G M14 stock is beefier than a TM, CYMA stock (plastic stock).

End results is I have a quiet operating M14 that can easily hit anything with in 220 feet. I’m capable with a fair amount of accuracy hit what I aim for at 250ft and have made a few nice accurate shots out to 275ft.

With a couple DYI tricks, some time and patients I have a M14 that out performs a stock G&G Veteran. The rifle is a great choice for those seeking a classic style rifle that will perform very well if you take a little time.

I would recommend using G&G magazines only. Classic Army M14 magazines are compatible, but
my experience there can be some feed issues with the CA mags being used with a G&G M14.
I've seen 3 other G&G M14 owners experience this issue also. My G&G mags (high and mid) feed flawlessly.

Pros:
M14 style
rather easy to achieve outstanding accuracy and range with this airsoft gun
for the most part solid, quality build - could be slightly better.
classic looks, intimidating appearance
V4 version is much improved over previous versions. Built like a veteran M14 with just a weaker M100 spring.

Cons:
internal plastic parts were brittle - I spent $20 in two upgrade parts to resolved that issue.
gun's weight, but it's manageable
magazines - price, difficult to purchase at times, lock into the breech differently than some other gun types out there. Be sure the magazine is locked in properly, so the it feeds smoothly.

Product Information:
Simply put, this gun is phenomenal. If you want a reliable, long range, and accurate gun look no further, provided you can tolerate a weapon that is slightly heavier and longer than a traditional M4/16 variant.

I've owned this gun for about a year now and have put a good 10,000+ rounds through it on both stock and upgraded parts. Out of the box the only thing that you may lament is it's relatively low muzzle velocity (mine came in around 350fps with 0.2's) but the hop up on this gun is amazing. Even with the low velocity I was able to adjust the hop such that with 0.25's I was still able to out range my buddy's JG M16 which was shooting around 400fps. But it was really the stock accuracy that first endeared me to this gun. It was a very satisfying experience the first time i fired it to see a little white dot appear above the front post and drop straight down at the end. The stock hop-up rubber is fantastic. Even once it wore in and developed a slight hook it was still very consistent; once you get used to it it can actually become an asset. Mind you that the hook is still only slight at range. Note that this gun can easily be upgraded to 400fps by only switching out the o-rings around the piston and cylinder head. The stock externals are rock solid, save for the heat shield on top, it's a little loose but I've never had an issue with it. The only reason you should replace it is for esthetic concerns. I recommend a large 9.6V battery, the stock is roomy enough to fit almost any sized battery.

However, this gun shines and has become my absolute favorite weapon when a few upgrades are put in. I have put in a new cylinder head (G&G proprietary), M120 spring, SCS hop up nub, a short high torque motor, and an AWS Pulse mosfet. With this set up and an 11.1V lipo I have a VERY consistent 1.83J of muzzle energy (nearly 450fps w/ 0/2's) and insane trigger response. I have disabled full auto due to my local field rules but the ROF is close to 20rps when bench tested. I'm able to get hits out to 200ft easy and during my last large game had 2 out at 250ft and 1 at 300. I highly recommend getting the G&G scope mount, though any real steal mount will work, and a good scope (I use a 1.5-6x and I couldn't imagine a better pairing).

The rest of the parts I've left stock save for the bucking which I had to replace with a madbull blue (still works great) when the stock one wore out and I have no plans to upgrade anything else. The stock shim job is decent, I only had to add a little to the spur gear (middle one), but your experience could vary.

Only downside are that midcaps are expensive and hard to find. I haven't had any problems with the CA's but their finish is painted on while the G&G's are actually blued. Also, the stock motor struggled a little to pull the M120, but it wasn't terrible. Other than that this is a tough, nearly perfect gun in my mind. If you want to get the best M14, get this one.

Pros:
Nearly everything

Cons:
Midcaps expensive and hard to find (only G&G and CA's will work)
Flash hider has become slightly loose

Product Information:
This gun is amazing! I've had it for over 3 years and have had no problems with it whatsoever! It is incredibly accurate, even on full auto. Thats right, this thing is select-fire. The magazine is really nice and holds a LOT of ammo. You can't do too much to this gun to customize it, but it looks pretty cool without anything on it! It's about 9 pounds, so a little more than your average M16. The stock is made of a very VERY durable plastic, and everything else is a super nice metal. It has a long barrel, so it is super accurate. For only $270, you can't find a better M14 for that price!

Pros:
I cannot stress how accurate this gun is (getting palm-sized groupings on a kid's chest from 150+ feet, and I'm no marksman)
very durable and reliable
great metal
select-fire
big stock for big batteries
easily adjustable sights

Cons:
magazines are expensive

That's all I can think of. This gun is absolutely amazing.

This gun has a full stock capable of accepting a number of different styles of batteries. As long as the gun is equipped with Small Type Tamiya Connectors, we would recommend, or something similar to:

Tenergy 9.6v 1600mAh NiMH Crane Stock Battery
D Power Universal Smart Charger
