The Magpul PDR-C (Personal Defense Rifle - Compact) is a compact bullpup rifle chambered in 5.56.mm. In development since 2006, the PDR was first announced by Magpul Industry at S.H.O.T. Show 2008. The PDR-C uses a standard USGI magazine. The PTR has a 12 inch barrel and it is a bullpup designed, giving it an overall length of 18 inches. There are ambidextrous controls on the rifle, which include the charging handle and the magazine release button. Couple unique features on the PDR-C which are not available on other bullpup rifle design are the magazine release button is actually located at the fire control group. Traditionally, bullpup riflesí magazine release is located at the back of the rifle, because that is where the magazine is. However, Magpul has developed a way for the release button located in the fire control group. This not only makes the reload faster, but also increases the survivability of the operator. Another unique feature that the PDR has is the fact that the operator can choose left or right side shell ejection, by push of a button.
The Magpul PTS PDR-C has all the features featured on the real PDR-C, which include the ambidextrous charging handle, ambidextrous front magazine release, and the selector for shell ejection. The Magpul PTS PDR-C has no mechanical safety, but it does have a trigger safety very similar to the Smith and Wesson M&P. There is no selector switch, the PDR utilize a 2 stage trigger, similar to the P90. The entire Magpul PTS PDR-C is made with ultra strength polymer, giving it feather weight but still maintain high durability. Magpul PDR-C comes with Magpul stippling; instead of stippling holes, the texture is actually tiny MagPul logos. The PDR-C comes with a full 1913 Picatinny upper rail, which is perfect for lights and optics. The rifle is extremely compact, but it is very comfortable when shooting. The Magpul PTS PDR-C comes with a Magpul P-Mag, which can be replaced by other M4/M16 magazines. If you are looking for a unique bullpup rifle which has the normal riflesí manual of arms, then the Magpul PTS PDR-C is perfect for you.

My main goal is to assist you with accessory info.
The space is small but you can fit a 3S 11.1v lipo and the gun can handle the power.
The Venom 1300 20C lipo fits (30mm x 86mm x 17mm). Part number is 15024
I cut the battery wire to 1 inch when I soldered my connector on. Leave your guns cable long and insert the battery with the connector end first. I recommend switching to deans plugs.
This battery can sometimes be found in local Hobby stores.
The handle is too small for adult hands. There are several grip extensions that will make the PDR feel alot better in your hand and provide more space for the battery. They are available from 3D print websites and now Magpul has released an official grip extension. Airsoft GI carries it. GET ONE
Use KWA 120 midcaps and avoid the frustrations others have had. Some high caps don't clip in and release reliably. The KWA plastic feels like it was made for this gun. The KWA logo is not visible when the mag is in.
The thread is CCW
The original flash hider is 29mm wide x 35mm long
The recess in the gun housing is 35mm around. You cannot install a flash hider/silencer wider than this.
This is not necessary but you can install a 300mm barrel using the included flash hider. All you need is a the
Madbull 1"Outer Barrel Extension ( CCW )
The flash hider will still be inside the gun housing enough that you will not see the skinny section. I personally think the flash hider is too stumpy looking as it comes.
There is a hole under the barrel for a planned flashlight mod. Magpul has still not released it.
The round hole is small (14.7mm diameter). The hole actually comes off the gun as a square shaped section about 27mm wide.
I got creative and dismantlement a 26mm wide flashlight, glued the front end in place, mounted a 2xAAA battery pack inside and mounted 2 buttons through holes I made in the body of the gun. Good Luck
The inside is tight. but I fit a Silver Gorilla Mosfet in front of the gearbox/below the barrel and hop up.
After install these couple of mods I love my PDR even more!
-Plastic is durable and doesn't feel like a toy.
-Short front end make it really nice for CQB
-Bullpup design means the barrel is decent length
-Easy mod to 300mm tight bore barrel make it challenge full size rifles for accuracy
-The PDR gets attention
-High caps have trouble clipping in
-A grip extension is necessary for most people
-Magpul never released the flashlight

Super small gun. have been running it for the last 6 months with zero problems. its kind of on the expensive side but i feel it was worth every penny after playing with it.
It doesnt fit all mags. anything other than magpul or kwa p mags you will have to file down the feed lip to get it to lock in the mag well. Simple mod to do to polymer mags.
over all would recommend to anyone looking for a great cqb rifle.
glock two stage trigger.
very light but sturdy
Price is way high
doesnt fit all m4 mags
no sights come with the gun
pistol grip is small for people with larger hands

A relative of mine lent me his PDR, and might I say it is an absolute beast. This small yet powerful machine of a gun is like a sidearm with the power of a primary. Entirely ambidextrous, you can be a lefty or a righty and still use this gun.
It's Magpul, so you can expect an awesome exterior. The interior has a little bit to be desired, but it still rocks.
Well built externally, feels nice, feels natural when skirmishing. Very small as well, but outperforms a pistol 100 fold.
No sights, barrel looks kind of ugly, and BB's fall out the back after reloading.
