The M1918 SLR is officially licensed by Ohio Ordnance Works and is a World War II based squad weapon. For the airsofters, reenactors and collectors the SLR is a great buy due to its steel and aluminum with faux wood body. The M1918 SLR gun built like a tank on the outside and the inside. The steel bipod is adjustable and can lock into place. The M1918 is weighs close to 14 pounds and is equipped with a metal front and rear sling loop. The gearbox is like Echo 1's Ohio Ordnance Works M240B and uses the quick change spring guide so you can take the stock FPS that is 410~ and drop it to a lower fps if needed. The M1918 uses a 8mm bearing gearbox using steel gears and a nylon piston. A MOSFET is also built in with fuse and low resistance wires. The M1918 SLR is solid built gearbox joined with a AK styled hop up unit and MadBull bucking. Installed is a long 509mm brass inner barrel ready to be used out in the field.

The Echo 1 M1918A3 BAR is one of the most solid built airsoft guns I've owned to date and I've owned quite a few since 1999. Everything on it is metal except the furniture and its made of a very dense, quality plastic. With the bi-pod and carry handle she's a lot to tote around, even for big guy like me, so I removed them and that dropped the weight considerably. The safety selector switch is easy to manipulate and accessing the hop-up is easy by pulling back the charging handle. It locks back so you don't have to fight with keeping it open as you do adjustments. The rear sight is very nice and fully adjustable. The stock has foam inside that has been shaped to hold the stick battery but it's removable/adaptable for allowing a larger or different shape battery to fit. The back of the stock has the cleaning kit door that allows access to the battery compartment but unless the foam is removed it's almost impossible to use it. Currently I remove the 2 screws from the butt plate to install/remove the battery which is not a big deal to me since I'm use to removing the butt plate from my TM Thompson for the same reason. Velocity out of the box was 400 - 408 fps with .20 BBs. Overall this gun is a beast and I'm really impressed!
Built like a tank!
Working Bipod and Carry Handle that can be removed without much trouble.
High rate of fire
Fully adjustable rear sight
Easy to use safety/selector switch
Large Battery capacity
Really, REALLY heavy! (much lighter though without he bipod and carry handle)
Extremely long. Definitely not for CQB or running through the thick under brush.
Butt Plate has to be removed to access the battery compartment.
Awkward magazine release

I recently purchased the Echo1 Ohio Ordnance Works M1918 SLR, it's a very nice rifle, true to scale and function a great rifle for either display or WW2 re-enacting. Shipping was phenomenal used three day UPS, my rifle left California on Monday and arrived at my home on the east cost on Wednesday. The first thing I did to my gun was to remove the bipod next I removed the carry handle, then I added a reproduction sling for the BAR. Can't wait to get this awesome airsoft rifle on the field.
1. True scale airsoft rifle
2. Can accommodate any type of battery, lipo ready
3. Great range when using a 11.1v lipo
4. Rate of fire is awesome
5. Front sight is great but the rear could use a little more refinement.
1. The barrel was scratched from the bipod legs, easy fix before shipping, add another layer of wrap around the barrel.
2. Barrel is two piece, if this rifle is dropped and hits the barrel an airsofter could be looking at replacing both the inner and outer barrels.
3. Spare parts are un-available.
4. Could use a larger capacity mag

The BAR is an amazing rifle, I got this gun about a month ago and used it in two skirmishes so far. Its held up great so far, the magazine is small but if you have any experience at al with any lmg you should know to fir in short bursts. The battery it came with is actually really good, its never died on me in a game, however the battery compartment is a b**ch to access. The gun was extremely front heavy also, I took the bipod off and it balances almost perfectly. When it came in however its ejector plate wasn't attached, and I couldn't get it to attach to the charging handle so I took that off too.
reloading feels awesome
vernere sight works great in the up position
Very trustworthy bipod and carry handle.
really high fps, (broke skin from 20 feet away)
stock battery works great
great for reenactments also
Loud as hell (can be both a pro and con)
hop up works
sling mounts are trustworthy
comes with two magazines
Magazine is tiny(can also be a pro for history nuts like me since the bar had a small mag)
takes about ten minutes to put the battery in
weight of the bipod
Carry handle is very stiff even if you loosen it
cant use the vernere sight in the down position because it doent sit all the way down.
That's really all I can say bad about it, there isn't much.
