Airsoft GI Desert G4-A1 w/ Daniel Defense 9" Lite Rail Blowback Version AEG Airsoft Rifle (Custom/Tan/No Iron Sights)
[16769]New to airsoft? Here are some safety tips for airsoft guns that we recommend following.
Never before have we offered a gun with such a high value per dollar ratio. The foundation is a special Combat Machine Blowback M4 with a crane stock that's wired to the back. The brilliant techs at Airsoft GI have fitted a one piece barrel and Official License Daniel Defense Free Float RIS. This is the first line up of new series of guns to come. We've worked out a special program with Combat Machine to send us OEM parts to build a special pneumatic blowback M4 with a crane stock, sling mount, and the wires to the back, so we can eliminate the need for a PEQ box and keep a clean look. The Combat Machine was carefully chosen for their high quality, reliability and incredible value. We've dropped the G4 straight onto the ground from 8ft and 9ft with no visible damage to the body, this is the strongest plastic receiver on the market. Additionally, with the innovation and imagination from the Airsoft GI technical team we are building some of the highest quality guns that money can buy.
This incredible offer is only available at Airsoft GI. If you were to buy all these parts individually it would cost over $380.00!
- 170 for the base gun
- 125 for the rail
- 50 for the barrel
- 40 for the crane stock (assuming the gun is already wired for a crane stock)

I bought this rifle almost a year ago when they first introduced the ASGI Custom line of guns, from that, it is a decent starting rifle. If you wish to use this as a long term weapon that is going to last in the future, it goes without saying that there is a serious need for upgrades to the plastic piston, easily burnt-out cylinder, and various other components within the gearbox. Upon receiving the rifle, crack open the gearbox (or have a tech you know do it for you) and see if there will be any upgrades needed in the short future - in about a month, because after light use for two months, I managed to damage several stock internal components. Again, you get what you pay for, for $250.00 this is a solid piece; but after about $200.00 more in upgrades to the internals, this will be your go-to rifle.
Pros:
- It's and m4 variant, what more do you want?
- Solid construction overall, dropping this by accident will be no cause for alarm
- Mine came with BUIS (Back Up Iron SIghts), that was a plus
- Removable outer barrel to a shorter length is a plus, I put in a shorter inner barrel without paying for an other outer, it looks more like and MK18 now
Cons:
- Upgrades NEEDED upon use after a month / two months
- EBB (Electric BlowBack) is useless, merely for aesthetic purposes, it sucks air away from the traveling bb and wastes energy from the battery - trash it
- This newer version doesn't come with BUIS, boo ASGI for being cheap....
The rifle worked well for about two months but my eventually died the anti reverse latch is a pain and the entire gear is not high quality I really wanted a metal one and bought the wrong one. So be careful. Upgrades necessary and better off getting the metal one.
Pros:
It was very accurate when it worked and a good rate of fire. Combine that with the cool markings and the nice light weight polymer this gun is a beast when it works.
Cons:
Cheap internals make upgrades necessary. Unless you are uber operator the rails are useless I would recommend getting the combat machine its cheaper and works just as good. Or get the full metal one thats is higher quality

Staff Answer:
The piston of this airsoft gun will last a lot longer because it is made out a better quality and stronger material. However, like all AEG's, even highly tuned, pistons will strip. It is a moving component with a great amount of wear and tear. 3656 days ago 0
