Prometheus 6.20mm Delta Strike Tokyo Marui M16A1/A2/VN/Steyr AUG AEG Inner Barrel (509mm)
[X07H04A][16704 / PR-4560329186442]New to airsoft? Here are some safety tips for airsoft guns that we recommend following.
Based in Japan, Prometheus has been well known for creating top of the line airsoft internals for different types of airsoft guns. This wide bore inner barrel is one of their newest products. What sets this product out from other inner barrels is the new three point contact design. This two piece inner barrel consists of the inner barrel made out of brass and the contact points out of a strong plastic material. The way this barrel works is that the two contact points on the bottom allow the BB to always be seated at the right spot for a more consistent contact. The third contact point would be the hop up nub. The barrel hop up window is much wider to accommodate different size nubs. The result is better range. The wider bore allows the BB to travel straighter without bouncing around in the barrel leading to better overall accuracy. Lastly, the mound-less or nub-less bucking allows the user to use different styles of nubs. Due to the wider bore over traditional tight bore barrels, a slight decrease in velocity will occur in exchange for more range and accuracy. The wide bore allows air to cushion the BB as it accelerates down the barrel to prevent it from bouncing off the walls, greatly increasing overall accuracy. The 509mm is a great addition for any m16 length barrel or rifle.

Basically, I just wanted to see how a wide-bore barrel performs in an AEG. I've heard that the ORGA 6.23s have had incredible results in PolarStars, but nothing about how they'd perform in an AEG. So when I saw that Prometheus was releasing the delta strike barrel, I decided to try one out.
The barrel was installed into a JG SR25. A note about the the gun and barrel. I know that because of the properties of a wide-bore barrel, extra air volume is required in the gearbox's cylinder. with a P*, this isn't a problem. Unfortunately with the JG model of SR25, they have a standard length cylinder. To compensate for this, I used an m140 spring and a type-0 cylinder.
Extra note, the hop-up window on the barrel is probably the largest i've ever seen from the factor. like, ER-hop long.
Pros:
Very consistent. Each bb goes to the same spot. The "Delta Strike" design seems to work well so far. The bucking is a Prometheus straight type, which I've used in an R-hop build in the past. Great bucking. Prommy also makes a bridge-type hop up nub, which appears to be made specifically for this barrel. Unfortunately ASGI doesn't carry them at this time. I plan on picking one up in the future to try out.
Overall, the guns range is increased, is more accurate, and just shoots better. Better than my own personal R-hop install in a different gun. For the price, i'd say the increase in performance is worth the price.
Cons:
Loss in air compression is a big deal here. with a full, non-ported cylinder and an m140 spring, I figure the gun is getting only about 420-430fps. normally with an m140 spring that number should be closer to 460-480.
So, if you're going to use this in a build, be prepared to use a stronger spring, and over-volume the cylinder for your barrel length. Your piston will need to push a lot of air to use this barrel effectively. Unfortunately, with a stronger spring, most other components of a gearbox also need to be upgrade, and V2s are more prone to cracking.
Overall though, if you're looking to get the absolute best performance out of your AEG, this barrel and the required upgrades are worth it.
