The G&P 614 Stock is a short version of a full stock. It allows you to have your rifle short for CQB type games while still having an enclosed space to store your battery. Unlike crane stocks and battery pouches you do not have to worry about damaging your wiring. And, you are still able to carry a custom large 9.6v battery pack.
Please Note:
Some modification to your M16s body may be required.
- Specifications
- Manufacturer: G&P
PROS:
1.You can replace your crane stock without buying a new battery.
2.It's made out of one heck of a tough composite. (Like a nylon/poly carb.)
3.If your repalceing a folding stock or a crane stock you dont have to do any modifications.
CONS:
1. It dosen't come with the inner wireing harness. (No big just use your old one, it's that easy)
2. If your replaceing your full stock with this you will have to do some cutting on the stock stem of your weapon. Also it dose not come with instructions how to. (But it's not a brain buster) Just make sure you cut the stock stem about a 1/2in. long and it will fit like a glove.
3.You can't put any bigger then a 9.6v battery in it. (You don't need any bigger than a 9.6v.)
OVERALL:
It's a great stock, I would recomend it to any one thats tired of there old colapsable stock or nasty old crane stock destroying there batterys. I would rate it a 10/10. I hope this review helped you make a great decision you won't reagret.
This stock feels very nice on the cheek, shoulder and anything else you might use to touch it. It effectively holds batteries in a 3-3-2 formation, making it idea for large battery set ups without making the rifle rather large at the same time.
The lower sling mount if held on with the lower screw on the butt plate of the stock, and it feels sturdy. I do not see why it would have problems, but I am still weary. The stock plate is held on by 2 large screws that need to be tightened in unison to create the firmest hold.
When attaching the stock to the rifle, as people have already stated, the inner tube (not buffer tube) needs to be cut down to just about 1 inch for it to attach.
Pros:
Great alternative to a crane stock to keep slim profile.
Second-to-none build quality.
Holds a large (gigantic) battery.
Cons:
Requires cumbersome hacksawing of the inner tube to attach.
Sling mount could be a problem.
Paint looks as though it is smudging.
