The FAMAS features the bullpup design which gives it a compact length with precision accuracy. The iron sights are adjustable for many different lighting apertures. There is a built in bipod and carry handle. Also, on the bottom of the hand guard there is a weaver rail segment for a vertical grip and/or flashlight. For: FAMAS Canadian Legal Airsoft (Smoke Clear/Licensed Official Product)
The FAMAS is an all around good gun. Its main feature is a bullpup configuration, which allows for a relatively short external barrel length and overall gun length, but a huge internal barrel. This gun’s 475mm internal barrel makes it extremely accurate, and many users have called it ‘magic’ for the extreme long-ranged shots you can pull off with it. The gun, outside, is made of mostly smoke-clear plastic to adhere with Canadian Legislation, but has a few metal parts; the front grip, the bipod, cocking handle, sights, barrel, and gearbox. The gun is very adherent to detail with these parts, even including a grenade support ring on the barrel! However, this plastic is not cheap plastic; it is ballistics-rated and can survive very heavy impacts. The metal V1 gearbox offers compatibility with V3, 6, and 7 gearbox aftermarket parts, and is very durable. The hop-up is a rotary-type, and can be found underneath the ejection port cover. The sights are aperture –based and adjustable for windage and elevation. The aperture size can also be changed, and, if all else fails, a flip-up blade sight can be used. Inside the battery compartment, a small-type Tamiya connector can be found, as with a foam plate to prevent the battery from bouncing around. The stock battery is 8.4 V, and gives a nice 10-12 RPS cyclic rate. The magazine holds 300 rounds, and is a High Capacity type, needing to wind up the bottom in order for it to function. The buttstock is rubberized and has small protruding areas to help it adhere to the user’s shoulder. The gun also boasts a ‘double safety’, consisting of a front mechanical safety that locks the trigger and a back electrical safety that doubles as a fire selector switch. If you want to mount optics, however, a rail will need to be bought off a separate site. Overall, this FAMAS is very much like its real-life counterpart, and is highly recommended if you want to turn a couple heads on the field. This is not your average ArmaLite!
Decent FPS (360-380 FPS)
Good cyclic rate (10-12 RPS [600 RPM])
Solid plastic build
Incorporated metal under-mounted Picatinny Rail
Good maneuverable length with a huge barrel
Lots of attention to detail
Needs separate optics mount
Hop-up is slightly awkward to use in combat
Smoked body to comply with Canadian Law makes it look unrealistic
No grenades are sold to be used with the grenade ring
