Product review:
This cylinder head/piston head set or whatever you want to call it is very very good.... The only problem is it actually only lowers the sound by 1.118mps but it is still very durable. Even though i bought this from another website I should have found this website first... I found that the piston head has 1 layer of foam padding with another layer of rubber padding, this rubber padding however has a air bubble for higher durability then they made the rest of it metal. Also the cylinder head has a foam padded back (4mm thick about) that adds even more durability then they made the cylinder head steel! That just makes it 30% over what good is... So far I put 30k rounds through this with a sp150 spring and no wears or tears...
I recommend this with any aeg that you want to turn to a sniper rifle.
note:
I put the following upgrades into and onto my full metal Tsd m16a4:
1.) SP150 Spring
2.) Jbu aluminum piston head with reinforced steel teeth (full)
3.) Systema cylinder set
4.) Steel rails/ris/ras
5.) Reinforced grip
6.) Aluminum stock (from real m16)
7.) Rubber butt plate
8.) Foregrip
9.) Metal spring guide with ball bearings
10.) Systema super-torque gear set
11.) stock src high-torque motor (came with gun)
12.) reinforced 8mm gearbox shell
13.) 8mm oiless steel bushings/shims
then to top it off i put in a 6.02mm diameter barrel and a steel src air nozzle for maximum flow
My guns fps:
540 feet per second
best ammo:
Airsoft gi .28's
rof: 2 balls/sec
range: 310-450 feet!!!!!
years since upgraded: 1 year 2 months
Pros:
Cons:
GOOD MATERIALS. i like that it came with the ball bearings for the spring, but i don't know if they forgot to glue mine or what because a day of use and i head a soft thud from my gearbox... i open it up to find the red rubber piece had fallen off and was smashed by my piston... to my surprise the sthing was still in perfect condition! i had to super glue the thing on several times untill it worked, same problem with the rubber on the gold colored piece, my suggestion, check the rubber pieces first before installation or put extra glue on them before hand to save yourself trouble
Pros:
- increased FPS, very good design
- excellent durability
- softens the impact on cylinder head to improve gearbox life
- comes with ball bearings on piston head
Cons:
- mine was poorly built where the rubber pieces fell off - not necessarily the case with all of them
Just put this in my Vector Arms MP5. Everything seems to be of very good quality. The washers which are rusted in the picture came with a very nice finish so don't let the picture scare you. Both the cylinder and piston head were a little tougher than I expected, but I guess being smashed together in a gearbox over and over takes some resilience.
As others have said, this will not silence your gun. In terms of sound though, I was expecting a kind of "PHUT" but these really give more of a poppy/airy "PUH".
I will confirm the poor air seal. The cylinder head is not the problem - it's great. The o-ring that comes on the piston head is much to small (in terms of skinniness) to fit the piston head. I actually just threw on the o-ring that came with my stock piston head - it was much fatter and the seal is excellent now.
Pros:
CHEAP
Good quality
Cons:
Bad o-ring. I didn't chrono with the different o-rings, so I don't know the fps difference, but the o-ring that comes with this package definitely leaks air when you press the piston into the cylinder.
